We took a trip from Victor Harbor to Goolwa on this historic train. It was a cooler day and we were lucky to have a steam engine pulling the train. That does not happen very often in summer because of the fire risk. It is a very scenic trip along the coast line and everyone on board seemed to enjoy it. It is mainly run by volunteers who do a great job in presenting the train as it was in days gone by.

This is the oldest steel railway in Australia. The Cockletrain goes from Goolwa to Victor Harbor and is a lovely journey. The kids really enjoy it though it is very expensive ($28 per adult). If you go on a Sunday it stops off at the Goolwa market which is a great break.

Approximate cost: $28
