First of all, I want to say, I am writing this review to warn potential customers from heartache, and nothing else. I have no malicious intent towards this business.

But I booked a room with Student Rooms last semester. Online it looked gorgeous - a little stand alone fully furnished granny flat with its own mini-kitchen, heating and cooling, and plenty of space.

When I went to inspect the house, the toilet was blocked. The mattress was stained. The air conditioning/heating unit was BROKEN!! I spoke to one of the tenants and she told me the place had been in this condition for months, since before she moved in.

There was rubbish everywhere, there were old paint pots and junk stacked around the shed, there was some EXPOSED WIRING in the shed.

Seriously the most disgusting rooming house I have ever seen. I can't believe they charge for a 'cleaner'. There was nobody cleaning that house!!!

I should have known that the place was dodgy because the staff at student rooms tried everything to prevent me from inspecting the property. They told me that it was not their usual procedure, and that they didn't have time to take me to see it. They showed me a video of the property and said that the video was exactly as the property was in real life.

But I got suspicious. I then inspected the property and found the condition it was in. Disgusting.

I do not recommend renting from this service.
