My wife loves her jewellery. She decided to use Studio 303 to design a very simple silver ring.

She supplied the stone. She was quoted a maximum price of $500 which she originally balked at.
This was not quoted by the actual jeweller, but the [redacted personal identifier]. Jeweler to his credit did appear to be uncomfortable with this price and suggested my wife think about it.

Being impulsive my wife agreed. Finished product was a disgrace. Looked like it had been designed by an amateur and as this jeweller does hold jewellery lessons we suspect they had a student make the ring.
Jeweler refused to provide a refund and suggested they could re design the ring. In fact [redacted personal identifier] made the statement that she could sell the ring for more than $500 in her shop front window, however did not agree to do this out of "principle " .

Fair Trading suggested going to court, however after being out of pocket for $500 for a ring that is ugly and will never be worn( and to be honest probably is worth $150-$200 ) , we have lost the appetite for the fight .
My wife's fault for agreeing in the first place to the price quoted , but just a warning to others, buyer beware, [redacted generalisation] they became very nasty and confrontational when challenged about quality or price. No customer service skills at all!

To add a little context my wife sells jewellery through a charity store and has to deal with several jewelers in the Sydney region. She has no doubt that in this type of scenario , they would have provided a full refund and apologized for the inconvenience. My wife admits she should have known better, and I guess this jeweller thought she was an easy target for whatever reason. Lesson learnt!
