Supabarn Supermarkets

I have been shopping at Supabarn, Canberra City for years. When Aldi arrived on the scene, I decided to buy what I could from them, thinking that I would save some money. However, I have found the quality of the fresh fruit and vegetables from Supabarn is far superior to Aldi, with very little difference in price. Supabarn's greens stay fresher for much longer, I used to throw Aldi's greens out within a couple of days or week of purchase. The range of grocery products available at Supabarn is simply amazing. Fresh meat and fish always a wide variety and at a competitive price. I like shopping there and generally the staff are friendly and efficient. Congratulations Supabarn.

Supabarn is actually cheaper than Woollies or Coles a lot of the time, which surprised me when I first realised. In particular, their fresh fruit and vege and meat are often on sale for quite a lot less than Woollies. Also their fruit and vege are much better quality - fresher and looking less close to death. I prefer to shop there even with Woolworths being closer - better prices, better quality fresh food and I like supporting a company that's not a duopoly giant.

The best supermarket in the Civic/Canberra Centre area, and a more upscale alternative to Woolies and Coles which are too far away. There are good deals to be found though, and it's nice that they open past 5.30pm though the rest of the mall is shut.

My favorite green grocers in the city and opens till late. I love the fact that I can shop for fresh produce after a movie on any weekday! The offerings are of good quality and prices are reasonable too :)
