I really like Suzie Wongs. It is casual and relaxed yet still manages to offer a sense of refinement and class. In terms of food, they offer a south east asian menu, influenced by thai and vietnamese flavours. The dishes themselves are innovative and modern. I would say it is almost fusion southeast asian cuisine. Creative, modern and unconventional use of asian flavours or cooking concepts.
As an example, we had ox-tail dumplings, flathead with ginger & lemongrass rub, and a salad of Autumn mushrooms, papaya and pickled bitter melon. Through some of the combinations sounded odd, the flavours and textures worked well.
Service was pleasant and unhurried.
