Shut swan animal haven down

Should be renamed Swan Animal Hell. I will no longer support this organisation. Like many others I have for years handed over my hard earned money to these people in the belief that they were rescuing animals, keeping them in good conditions and rehoming them to loving new owners. It appears I have been duped into donating to a cause that holds animals hostage in squalid conditions and denying them the right to be loved and cared for by new families who are often turned away at the gate or applications rejected over the most pettiest and bizarre reasons. To work in this type of environment one must have the ability to emotionally detach while still holding empathy and maintaining professional and ethical service. The people running Swan Animal Hell are clearly not psychologically equipped to handle this work. All commonsense goes out the window when people cannot control their emotions. Referring to the case of Oakley, the dog they snatched back from his loving new home and continue to hold out of spite is nothing short of pure evil. Veterinary staff, animal behaviourists, animal welfare officers and even other shelters want Oakley to be returned to his adoptive family. Swan Animal Hell should have all control of the shelter seized from them immediately and lets see how fast those animals who’ve been languishing behind bars for many months, even years are rehomed. These people don’t reduce dogs, they hoard them and break their spirit. They are beyond cruel.

Send oakley home

Terrible behaviours to take back a dog a month later with a miserable explanation. The stress on the dog would be immense.

I feel so sorry for the animals there. Be prepared to be treated like a criminal, to be frog marched around to see the dogs (if they even decide to let you in). They are locked up in horrid conditions, small
& dirty.Once you've been rushed around they don't seem to want you to take any with you, they have the you've seen now leave approach. They've had the same miserable looking dogs in there for I don't know how long, which begs the question...What are they doing there?? Why don't they have government funding? Why is the public giving them their hard earned dollars to help feed and look after them?..when essentially it's their own caged pets.
If you want a pet be prepared! you must be married, be home all day, have no children and look ok to them. They reserve the right to say if you they don't have a good feeling about you. If you do get through then be prepared for regular visits and the right to take the dog off you again.
I REALLY CANT believe they have been around for 23yrs
