Was looking for a mature Japanese maple. They sent me an email advertising 3m mature trees. When I emailed a request they quoted for a 2m tree. I then asked for a quote on a 3m tree and they quoted , an increase of 50. I ordered the tree and when it arrived it was closer to two meter. When I called to complain I was informed by Noel that they don’t sell that size tree. He said he would look into to it. A week later he called and offered to reduce the price by the 50. Price was not the issue I wanted a mature tree. The sales people at this place are deceitful and will do anything to get a sale. I cannot recommend this nursery o anyone. Other reviews on google verify this behaviour . Absolutely disgusted

We used to be customers. However, my wife took some asian visitors to see the roses and buy some plants. They were standing in the doorway, after buying the plants, and [redacted name] told them in a very rude manner to move on as they were blocking the doorway. There were no other people around at the time. Because of his attitude we will never return. We are new to this area any were becoming regular customers.

Perhaps they do roses well, but not so other items. I bought a blue orchid bird bath. In less than one week the bird birth got a crack on the base. There was nothing that I was aware of that happened that would have made the bird bath crack.

I took the bird birth back and they refused to give a refund, saying that I must have done something to it. I tried to point out that it was not good quality, but they absolutely refused to admit it.

It's fine if they want to sell bird baths like that, but they should put a sign saying that they are not suitable for use out doors. The fact that all the birds baths are for display indoors was probably a dead giveaway and in hindsight I shouldn't have bought the bird bath. It did look quite delicate but I bought it as it was made from concrete and I thought it should last a little longer than a few days without breaking.

As a learned later that just because something is made out of concrete doesn't mean it is strong. It needs to be reinforced, which the bird bath wasn't.

If you love roses, this is the nursery to visit. You can walk around the rose garden, have a meal, or buy some plants. The staff are very helpful. Well worth a visit, especially for interstate visitors as Swanes is well known throughout Australia.

Swane's has a beautiful rose garden that you can walk around to choose the variety you want. We've always found their roses to be of the highest quality even though they are more expensive than others. When they last had a sale we bought 3 rose plants. We also get the sugar-cane mulch and lucerne hay from here.

I went to swane's for a last minute Mother's Day present. Having no idea about plants I must have looked pretty lost which is when one of the older horticulturists approached me. I explained my situation and she was very helpful asking about my mother's garden, the types of plants she had how much sun it got and how often my mum tended to the garden, she then recommended a couple of plants that would do well. Having chose a plant I took it to the register and was pleasantly surprised when the sales assistant offered to gift wrap it. Although Swane's isn't the cheapest nursery around I am more than happy to pay for the fantastic service they offer, I will definitely be back there again
