I use the product 'perfect sweet' a all natural substitute for sugar made of 100% xylitol. Xylitol occurs naturally in many fruits, vegetables and hardwoods and is even produced by the human body during normal metabolism. It has a low GI 7 where as cane sugar has a GI 65.
There are also other products available such as cake mixes.
