Tandanya is a great place for children (and grandchildren) to visit. It gives a great insight into who lived on the Adelaide plains before white settlement. Tandanya is the aboriginal name that the Kaurna people called Adelaide and surrounds. There are special exhibitions/performances that need to be paid for but there is also free entry which is a financial help during school holidays. It also tells of the Torres Staits peoples culture. So while entertaining the young ones, they (and us) also learn about the past inhabitants of Australia
A cultural delight, Tandanya is an amazing and informative place to visit to learn about Australian Aboriginal culture, especially art. They have a wonderful display of hand woven baskets and vessels made from native plants and materials.
