Average food , the food was made with good spices, can smell from the curry. The bread was cold not really enjoyed the naan bread. Except bread, the curry was really good. the staff is friendly, when i have asked for replace the naan bread they have made that for me and provide me warm nan bread.
This place used to be better and right now, it's average and nothing special. Prices are fine and the food is okay.
This place used to be by far the best Indian Restaurant in Coffs Harbour, and in my experience possibly one of the best in NSW. The food was consistently fantastic. There was a fire in 2008 which temporarily closed the restaurant. When it re-opened things other than the decor had changed. It is true, the rice is now gluggy, whereas before it was loose and perfect in texture with a hint of tumeric and cardamon pods.. The naan is now small in comparison and has lost some of that magic that an authentic tandoor oven will provide. The food however is still overall very good. Nice and saucy instead of thick and gelatinous. Give Tandoori Oven a go. My favourites, the butter chicken, murgh do piaza, chicken vindaloo, entrees, and the lassi are awesome.
Approximate cost: $17.00
This place still has an authentic Tandoor as the lovely owners have showed it to me when I have dinned there. By the way after being in their kitchen all I can say is wow it is the cleanest kitchen ive ever seen.
Renee C, are you telling us that your restaurant still has an authentic charcoal fired clay tandoor oven and not a modernised gas (flick of the switch) one? We were shown through your kitchen also on re-opening. Please leave comments or discussion to members of this site, or just identify yourself as the owner when wishing to clarify something. Decor nice.
Service ok.
Food tasteless.
We have dined there twice now and both times have not liked it.
The food is bland and tasteless, underseasoned and not enough spice.
The rice is gluggy and horribly yellow!
Approximate cost: $15-$20
I go here for lunch and they are friendly and it has a great atmosphere, The food is fresh and well made. I usually go for the butter chicken, its a classic
Tandoori Oven are not open for lunch???? But the Butter Chicken is something else.
The owners of tandoori oven Colin and Renee treat all their customers as if they are a part of their extended family. The friendly service and excellent quality of the food is very hard to beat. The Naan Bread is the best ever.
