I came across Tara Treasures at the Kensington Festival and there are a list of other markets and festivals they attend with their brightly coloured stall of beautiful handmade treasures - St Kilda festival, Queen Vic Market etc. The most beautiful handcrafted items you could ever wish to see and they are ethically sourced from the Himalayas, giving Nepalese and Tibetan women some income and independence.

The superb mobiles and decorations for nursery caught my eye - especially the subtle and exquisite knitted squirrel mobile as well as garlands, decorative banners etc. They also have sweet hand puppets, little purses and bags and a whole host of other items for children. Also have lovely jewellery, but it's the brightly coloured, hand stitched, made-with-love items that really impressed me. Prices were good too and you know you are helping women and girls. I bought a lovely animal felt brooch for my daughter at $6 or two for $10. I really wanted a fun pencil topper and slippers too, but for me, not her. LOL
Lovely people and could probably get something made if they don't have what you are looking for.
If you don't catch them at a market, you can order on line - free shipping over $60.
