This review is long overdue because of unforeseen circumstances. My application was a long process in the making. But, without Hannibal and Deepika's help, I wouldn't have my 491 Visa today. Their patience with my never ending questions was outstanding. Truly, Thames Migration is one of the best migration agency you can find in Australia!

As recently as less than three months ago I was certain I would have to leave Australia due to my upcoming visa expiry date. A previous migration company I had spoken to dismissed my chances of staying within minutes which left me believing there was no hope. Our journey towards achieving a life long dream, started more than two years ago. In the beginning of 2016 Chris and I appointed Thames Migration via there UK, London office to prepare and manage a 457 visa application for us. The process was long and complicated and unfortunately my employer in Australia decided to pull out of the agreement last minute and we were refused.

With this disappointment, we decided to move on and prepare for a visa 489. This meant achieving superior English, having a skills assessment done and translating various documents, before finally submitting our application in September 2017. We received state sponsorship through South Australia, which came through rather quick and this was a nice change for us and possibly our first real positive experience since we started out our journey almost a year and a half earlier. Although we had this nice experience, we were at this point tired and exhausted from the process and decided to make arrangements for our medical examinations, so that we could sit back and relax after a year and a half of non-stop hard work, whilst waiting for the final outcome. We went in October 2017 and to our surprise, Chris' examination was not approved. We declared everything in our past and did not expect that Chris' medical history (which occurred in his youth) would become a problem, as he has managed to turn that part of his life around, but we got wiser, as we were now facing a request from Medical Officer of the Commonwealth (MOC), having to present a recent psychiatrist report on Chris. Hannibal was great, he guided us through this very emotional and testing time, he understood and showed understanding for our situation, which was long stretched, we were tired and ready to give up.

We would like to thank Hannibal Khoury for coming through for us at the end of this very long and hard road, where trust and faith and belief had all gone haywire a long time ago. If it had not been for Hannibal, Chris and I would have given up just before the finishing line, because we no longer believed in the process. Hannibal though, told us that it would be a big mistake to give up at this point and he managed to ‘hold our hands’ through this process and the outcome was everything we had hoped for. We finally received our Subclass 489, Skilled Nominated (provisional) visa in March 2018.

Choosing Thames Migration and in particular Hannibal to begin with, turned out to be a wise move for us He prepared and presented our case to MOC and he got us through the eye of the needle. The minute we got our visa, all our hardships and difficulties was forgotten and our focus immediately changed to our new life in South Australia, a new adventure, a life that we have been dreaming about for the past two years and more, but really decades. We could not have done this on our own and believe that this achievement comes down to a mix of perseverance, patience and professional guidance. We would very much like if Hannibal could personally look after our PR application in the future and repeat the success.

I had approached a few agents and no one seemed confident as there were some changes expected in the points based system. Finally, I met Hannibal and the Thames Migration team and in the initial interview I was assured that my case is very doable. Thames team is extremely patient with their clients, they understand the case and the context and try to cull out as much information as possible from you. They weave your story really well to build a strong case. My experience has been that the process of acquiring a visa is not as objective as one would think, there are elements of subjectivity and that is where guidance from the experienced team of Thames Migration is extremely helpful.

Apart from that the entire process is very time consuming and tedious. For working professionals, it is difficult to do justice to the application and hence an experienced person/agent like Thames Migration is required. Simon and I had been on a working holiday in Australia back in 2003/2004 and, you know the tale, planned on going back but never quite getting around to it! Well, circumstances led us to acting on this wish finally in July last year, we started planning - thinking about doing it all ourselves to save some cash.

However, once we realised that was probably a bit over optimistic we rang Hannibal for an intitial consultation. He was the first agency we contacted, but found that he seemed to know his stuff and seemed nice enough, so we jumped straight in. The I started to worry that I hadn't 'shopped around' enough and had I gone with the best person. I needed have worried at all as Hannibal and the Thames Migration were amazing!

I'm a very anxious person and they handled my constant e-mails very professionally and didn't complain (or come across annoyed) at any time, no matter how small or silly my worry was. When I thought we'd hit a brick wall with the application, they found a way through, and we were granted our visa in June 2017!!!! I still can't believe it's really real!

I know it sounds contrite, but we really couldn't have done it without them, and I truly realised what a great agency they were when I sat my IELTs test and heard a miriad of people around me complaining about their agents not doing the job they had been paid for. I even heard one guy say that he may as well have done things on his own because his agency were making the process more difficult than it already was.
