Excited to try this newly opened restaurant, an all you can eat buffet at that, we headed down to The Aroma Kitchen with high hopes and empty stomachs. Upon entering our visual sensors are tickled with candlelight and modern design. Smiles began to stretch across our faces as we smelled the aroma of a variety dishes in the air. The thing about buffets that I love is the fact that you sit down and then think to yourself 'what am I waiting for?' our backsides touched the seats for only a moment as we rose and marched on over to the buffet. The first thing I looked for was a plate, found one, walked around and studied every dish available to make an informed decision about what I should eat first. It was during this stage that I began to feel a little disappointed. Although the dishes looked pretty good, it came across a little too much like a posh cafeteria. The fried food looked and tasted a bit too much like no name frozen food, and the variety was lacking a little among other dishes. Standard roast, a few indian style dishes, of which the rice was a little hard, seafood area that was underwhelming and a bunch of other average dishes. This disappointment probably would not have come so early if I hadn't paid around $29 for this meal. Perhaps if it was $21 I would pass it and be a little more satisfied, but you know your not in a good place if you think more about the money you spent rather than the food you ate. The staff were friendly enough, however, we asked for about 4 different types of common soft drink beverages that they had 'run out of' at 7 o'clock and at 1/4 capacity..... hmm.. they kept trying to tell us that certain drinks were 'not as nice as' other drink to hide the fact they did not have that one available...It was weird. Overall, disappointed. Very nice atmosphere and interior design, just lacking everywhere else.
