This is a lovely old fashioned hotel that has superb meals in a clean environment,the staff are very welcoming always a smile,would stop there again when passing through Batesford

We recently returned here after nearly six months, and we were impressed with the improvements. It did take a little bit to get the waiter's attention, and our friends were left waiting quite a while for a kid's sundae, but other than that I couldn't fault them. The food was incredible (the lamb shanks, oh my goodness!). We visited on a Saturday night and the place was packed, so best to book ahead. I absolutely love the work they've done to the outside of the building too.

This is the first time we've eaten there since it recently changed hands. The entire building has been extensively renovated, and it no longer has the old country pub feel, it's very modern and "inner city". The bar menu is no longer as extensive, and is much more costly ($29 for the fish and chips bar meal!) The service was great, and the outdoor dining area is just lovely in summer. I had the salt and pepper calamari, which was nice enough, but the calamari was very oily and heavy feeling. This was our favourite pub until the new owners took over, and I'm sad to say I'm no longer such a big fan.

went there recently for my cousins birthday and it was fantastic meals were massive and extremely tasty highly recommend. also reasonably priced

Whilst the decor might be hard on the eyes, you hardly notice it when your meals arrive.. There were 4 dining and everyone of us thoroughly enjoyed the meal! The Batesford Burger is to die for and is home made with the best chips EVER!
