The manager is rude and arrogant to me and to the customers so I would avoid this place at all costs and I would recommend going to another Hotel/Pub.
The restaurant is now having a fresh look after rennovation. It has also provided a kid playing area so it caters to families as well.
The food is tasty, plate presentation is appealing and serving size is good. The food and drinks are reasonably priced. The seniors menu is of particularly value. If you have shop-a-docket 2-1 coupon, it is even better. In conjunction with the new renovation, the customer service is also better now.
My son and I often drop into the sports bar and purchase a pot & parma for $10, which is excellent value, the parma's are always large and tasty, and the drinks are icy cold
More over-priced, average pub fare in the eastern suburbs. The meals here are okay but they are small and expensive. I miss the days where you could get a really great meal at the local pub. The food is halfway there, just needs some tweaking but serving sizes need to be larger.
Kids play area is a welcome perk for both kids and adults alike and it was this feature that led my 10 year old daughter to select this venue for her birthday dinner. On arrival, the young disengaged woman seating us swept her hand across the clearly dirty table top to brush a few of the last diners crumbs aside, told us she was going to get water for the table and never came back. My father ended up seeking out the detergent spray and cloth from the counter and wiping down the table himself. Two of our three chairs were broken (badly enough that my 10 year old couldn't sit on them) and needed to be exchanged. After the already questionable service, the menu prices were off-putting but the food coming out of the kitchen looked quite well-presented and generous in portion, so we were excited. Upon receiving our meals, they were disappointing. Generous size aside, they were pretty average. Risotto was terribly cooked with big lumps of chalky powdery old rice all through it, overcooked seafood and weird combination of flavours. Stir fry was good enough to satisfy my kid and calamari was ok.
Nothing to write home about and I wouldn't go there again in a hurry unless service and quality of food was unimportant and someone else was paying.

The location of this place isnt great. Although parking isnt bad, the (non kids part) down the back is almost like an old style pub with the bar which i like. i think the food is pretty good for a local pub/bistro. prices are good (especially if you get a shop-a-docket 2for1) i dont like lining up for my food to be honest though. but besides that its a pretty good pub.
Approximate cost: $22
A great bistro with a $12.00 seniors menu if required. The food is good although sometimes the vegetables are blanched too quickly and are still almost raw.
The dining area is huge, parking is easy and the staff are very frioendly and efficient.
Plenty of pokies if that is what you want.
This is what I describe as being standard pub fare. I go there for lunch sometimes when I have a coupon or for the odd family occasion like a children's birthday or a quick family lunch.
The service can be slow but the staff are friendly. The food is nothing outstanding but relatively affordable and quite large in portion size. The menu is limited but I don't go to a pub looking for a new culinary experience. The playground is large, enclosed and clean so parents can let their kids play in safety.
No better than any pub in the local area. The food was as good as can be expected from a pub meal. The fact that there is a playground is great for families, however school holidays are crazy!! Took us 30 mins to line up to order and another hour to get our meals!

A group of 8 of us went here for lunch on a Sunday. There were others there but it was by no means busy.
On the positive side, for the most part the meals came out together. The chicken parmigiana was huge.
On the negative side, the roasts were cold, the soup was tasteless, the dips all tasted the same. The coffee took ages and when it arrived it was cold.
One good thing about this place is that the kitchen doesn't close at 3pm on Sundays like so many other places do.
Approximate cost: $25
We went here because we wanted to try something different but we will not return. Twice they messed up our orders and we had to wait so long for it to be ready. The quality was average and we felt it was far too expensive. We did make a complaint and got a free voucher which we used for lunch but it is the first and last time we go there.
Approximate cost: $20
It used to be really good a few years ago,but its all changed now.We had the same problem and never been back
I rate coach and Horses as an overall 3 because it has a playground. As a parent, a playground that is warm, safe and suitable for a range of ages gives an automatic plus.
However, this is where the positives for coach and horses end.
When we went recently the food was terrible, and the service at the bar was even worse.
I ordered grilled chicken with cream sauce dressing and vegetables. The chicken was dry, and cream sauce as basically milk and the vegetables appeared as though they may have been a week old. I waited at the bar for near 20 minutes to be served and the dirty dishes on the (empty) table beside us sat there for the entire duration of our stay.
If the service / food were to improve then coach and horses were to improve then this would be a fantastic, family friendly restaurant.
Approximate cost: $25.00
this place is fantastic. the playground is enormous and the food is lovely. great for a family dinner or large group. the kids birthday parties are also good.
We have been back since last review and it is still worth going there again!
First time I had been to this pub and it is very family friendly with a huge kids play area in the bistro. It has a great members facility (just new I was told) We were here on a busy members night and we still got friendly service and great pub meals on time. It looked like there was a lot of fun going on in the gaming area for the members and a lot of give aways.
Approximate cost: $25
Coach and Horses is very hit and miss. Some nights the food and service is fantastic and others, not so good. I'll rate it in the middle due to the inconsistency.
This was a pleasant place for a Friday night gathering. We (5 of us) were seated away from the main crowd so it was nice and quiet and easy to chat. The food was pretty good. Four of us had steak (200gms) and 3 out of the 4 were great - tender and cooked just right. The 4th steak was tough unfortunately. One had fish and chips - there were 3 reasonable sized pieces of fish and a good amount of chips. Drinks were a reasonable price - and there was Guinness on tap which was a bonus!
The service was good and it is a place worth a visit for reasonably priced down to earth pub food. The Senior's menu looked pretty good too!
Approximate cost: $24.00
I was drawn by the Coach and Horses (terrible pun, sorry) because its one of the few places in my local area serving Guinness on tap and I wanted that more than anything last night!!
I've driven past the C&H so many times but this was my first visit. It was relatively quiet although there were a couple of large groups of people, and our meals came out amazingly fast! The portions are very generous - my idea of having something from the 'light' part of the menu was still too much for me to finish off - and the atmosphere was pleasant. There is enough space between the bistro and the pokies section that you don't have to listen to the machines throughout your meal which is a bonus!
I'd be interested to see what it's like on busier nights but if you're after a decent feed (or a pint of Guinness!!) definitely give it a try :)
Approximate cost: $16 - $30
I have been to this pub a couple of times and found it to have a warmth about it. The food is pretty good and I like how there is a kids area.
This pub can do some meals really good and others can be a little disappointing. Tuesdays the offer a great deal, and its really worth checking out. They have a playground which keeps the kids amused.
Absolutely top notch meals-could expect this type of quality at any fine restaurant. Very clean venue, the staff are also very helpful and polite
Approximate cost: $25
It definitely one of the best pubs in the area, and the meals here a pretty amazing. It can get pretty busy, yet the service is still wonderful
The location of this place is really handy, and the food is not bad either. Not a bad place if you are after a local meal
Great place to take a couple of toddlers for an early (ie. before 6pm) dinner. They loved the play area, the food was good - not gonna win any awards but tasty and enjoyable.
The food is really good here! Its yummy and the portion sizes are really good. They also have a nice little play area for the kids. The desserts are good too.
I found the staff friendly and helpful and the childrens play area was an advantage, however the food was cold when it reached us and wasn't nice. The roast was very fatty.
Approximate cost: $25
We have been here twice for dinner recently. The food is lovely, great size and much better quality than any other pubs nearby. The roast was lovely - something that is usually a bit dry and bland at a pub/bistro. If you dont want to be near the kids - dont forget to ask to sit in the other area, near the bar.
Approximate cost: $24
I've been with friends during the day, it's a convenient spot for us to meet and they have good equipment for small fry. I kinda got the feeling that they had other priorities, as in not us. If it were not for the convenience of it's location and parking plus the play equipment for kids, I don't think we would bother otherwise.
Decent sized pub meals which are generally of a high standard. Have only realy tried the parma, steak and roast, but i imagine the rest of the meals would be good too. Not too big and not too small, and you get your meal pretty quick. They have a tab and pokies and there's a few pool tables and usually some footy or other sports on the tv's.
Approximate cost: $10-20
