We waited for a little longer than anticipated for a breakfast menu and was then pleasantly surprised by the range of early breakfasts available. The extensive menu might be why Canberra cycling clubs visit The Deakin on a regular basis. The service was slow and we had to remind the waitress for the 'extras' such as a new fork and napkins. Other than that, this little cafe is ideally located for the Deakin shops and close to the hospitals and doctors' surgeries. We think the waitress and chef could all do with some customer training. The prices are on the high side for coffee and cake. but if you need somewhere to chill out for 45 minutes between appointments, this cafe is ideal. The Spanish lavender outside provides a beautiful aroma for the cafe.
