Great location for a takeaway shop. You can get your order and go over and eat along the water.
The staff were lovely and helpful even though they were busy.
A little bit of a wait but we expected that. I had a hamburger and hubby had fish and chips. He had to run back over the road to ask for some lemon but the food was very tasty and 'real' chips not frozen. It's getting harder to find them these days.
They could do alot more with the inside as there was only 1 maybe 2 tables and a lounge for waiting (maybe they just expect everyone is going to head across the road to eat).
But overall I enjoyed it and look forward to going back in these warmer months.

I come here sometimes in summer with my boyfriend to get some hot chips for lunch so I can eat them by the lake. The chips are always very tasty but a little expensive for the amount you get. They also do slushies which are very tasty and refreshing. I have found there is always a long wait time (even just on an order of chips) even if the store isn't particularly busy. The staff could also make more of an effort to be friendly (even if they just smiled). I always get the feeling that the staff just want me in and out of the shop as quickly as possible, which is disappointing. I come here mainly out of convenience as it's close to the lake but if there was another take-away option close by I'd prefer not to buy from here.

The esplanade takeway, although do have absolutely wonderfull food, really need to pick up on customer service and wait times. I waited a good 30-35minues for a few cocktail fish. The lady was a little rude and they are a little pricey, I did really enjoy my food, but will not be ehading abck due to wait times and poor customer service!

Approximate cost: $7

Food was good (BUT i ended up with a fried fly in my meal), really long wait at busy times. Have not been back since fly incident - just can't get the "urk" out of my mind.

Approximate cost: $10

Good takeaway food shop, nice chips which is so important and I enjoy the fish burger. And you can't beat the fact you can get a cheap lunch and eat it across the road on the foreshore. Watch out for the seagulls but! They can be vicious!

Approximate cost: $10

Love their food. It taste great and is cheap. It is next to a bakery so you can get chips and bread and eat them on the jetty.

One of the better takeaways around newcastle. The chips are the real thing, No frozen chips here however don't expect much for your money.
