I recently went for High Tea which as really nice, however if you want another pot of tea you need to buy another one which was disappointing. The food was received on a layered tea stand and ranged from sweet to savory, scones, open sandwiches, tarts etc. Lovely crisp white table clothes and a chilled glass of bubbly to start but not included in the high price.

Approximate cost: $45

I was really looking forward to going to The George as it is a really beautiful looking place with some nice wines. I ended up visiting on a Saturday night and the atmosphere was very disappointing! There were about 10 people in the whole place but the music was still really loud and somehow, paying for expensive wine and posh service isn't as satisfying when you're the only ones there!!

It was a special occasion that brought me to the George being my good friends hen's afternoon. Was the first time I have been and I was very impressed with the decor and layout of the venue. The atmosphere was fantastic but being a cold winter day where we were seated which was towards the front it was too cold. We had a group booking of 16. The menu was not spectacular but the scones were the highlight. The high tea consisted a total of 8 varieties. Meringue tart, chocolate cake, three savory open baguette and a sweet tart with herbs which we all thought was sweet, the only item I disliked was the strong Brie which I though was the least impressive. You could only select one type of tea which was a shame as I would have liked to try a few. Lucky my sister eras with me so we had two choices, if you wanted another variety it would have cost 6dollars.
The service was excellent.

rustic, modern style. Hanging lights, roman wall artwork. Sets the mood. Brilliant for work functions. High tea on sat and sunday and plenty of events throughout winter and summer months. Become a member like myself and receive discounts, competitions and much more. Great prices and gorgeous food... On the finer side not so much pub food.
