I visited The Groove Train with my family while in holiday in Melbourne. There's a great selection of both meals and drinks, the meals were well sized and delicious.
The staff were very friendly and added to the laid back atmosphere that has been successfully created in this restaurant.
From the minute we walked in we were greeted with friendly service. Our meals came out promptly and were of great quality. My husband had the 'best chicken focaccia he's ever had'. The venue is baby friendly also.
Thanks for a great review of the Groove Train.
I've been to the Groove train at Docklands a number of times but the only reason I keep going back is because it is conveniently located. The food and service is average not outstanding, at times I have had to wait a while to be served and the food is not that great that you would want to tell your friends about. If you are stuck and you need somewhere to eat then I would try the Groove train at the Docklands.
Very average...I've been here three times and am always underwhelmed. The other Groove trains are better than this one but this is the closest to my home. Manager is extremely rude to the staff and occasionally even to a customer or two. Food is bland (salt and pepper to taste) and coffee is average which is strange as its Veneziano which is normally pretty good. Blase review for a blase establishment.
Firstly, the food is great, i have tried the lamb pizza, parma and the fried calamari, and loved them all, havent been disappointed with any foods that i have tried, so thank you to the chefs. The service however has been atrocious, the waiters/waitresses seem clueless as there has been more than twice that i have returned my meals because they have gotten it wrong. Either they are not listening when they take orders as their mind is where else, or they are getting orders mixed up with other people, Im not sure, but the service needs a bit of help. If it wasnt for the food, i would never return, but the lamb pizza always makes me come back! Guys please do something about the service!
Eaten here a few times and all have been fairly good, nice place with heaps of different options on the menu to choose from. Pizza's here are really good but other than that food was lacking, had a chicken focaccia which was tastey but a really crunchy bun, ended up eating the filling only whihc was nice. Also the parma was pretty nice, big size and heaps of sides. The other thing was the service, its a hit and miss most seem uninterested and even had a one smoking out on the balcony with the door open with smoke drifting through other diners, wasnt a good look. Other times really attentive and happy to change a few things or find a nice seat outside on the balcony.
Approximate cost: $15-20
