Ok so I have been here a few times and each time I have been under-whelmed. The food is good, not great. Service is the same. In saying this. Compared to other places in olinda, I have always gotten a table here, even on busy nights.

Having been here once and being quite happy with their dinner meals, I thought it'd be a nice place to bring my mother and mother-in-law over for lunch on Anzac Day. Wood-fired pizzas we ordered were decent, kid's meal was unexpectedly small-sized (for my 11yo nephew). When we asked for the bill, we gave our Entertainment Book voucher to get our "Buy 1 main, get 1 main meal free" deal, only to be ABRUPTLY and RUDELY told that they do not accept the vouchers on public holidays, that this was an Entertainment Book ruling, and we would have to take it up with Entertainment Book. When I (very calmly) tried to clarify that the Book specifically states that the vouchers are ONLY NOT VALID on:
- Christmas eve, Christmas day, Boxing Day, new year's eve, new year's day
- Valentine's Day,
- Good Friday and Easter Sunday
- Mother's Day;
The man at the counter (presumably the business owner), interrupted me and rudely insisted that they do not accept it on public holidays that I should bring up the matter with Entertainment Book.

If business owners cannot financially afford to partner with Entertainment Book to offer such deals honouring its terms and conditions, they just shouldn't partner with them in the first place.

Extremely appalling. Will definitely not be back to The Ivy. This is of no loss to me, as there are many other establishments on Mt Dandenong to visit. Would gladly pay full price (instead of saving a mere $25) to businesses that have more integrity!

You can be sure that I would not be recommending this place to friends any longer.

We arrived on a Saturday night with no booking, and were given a nice table by the window. Service was pretty good, but I don't like my waitresses caked in make up and with false eyelashes!
We didn't have to wait too long for our pizza and pasta. The food itself was delicious, as was our dessert. However, I think it is way overpriced for the location and service levels. I have eaten in formal restaurants in Melbourne that cost the same.
And several times during the night the owner stepped just outside the front door with one of the floor staff for a cigarette. Definately would not have gone in if I had seen this earlier. After we had been served our desserts and coffee, it felt like we were forgotten. We paid the bill at the door with dirty plates still on our table.
I think they have a way to go before they can justify the prices here. The service level must catch up to the standard of food

I went here for dinner and had the Ortica pizza which has lots of mediteranian vegetables on it. Absolutely devine, very large pizza cooked in a wood fired pizza oven , thin base how a pizza should be. The deserts are also incredible I had a chocolate desert that was a fredo similar to ice cream really beautiful. Lovely environment especially nice on a cold night with the fire place going and a glass of wine. One of the best restaurants in Olinda.

We went to The Ivy for lunch a couple of weeks ago. I can not even begin to describe what happened. It was me, my parents in law, my fiance, my parents, and our 3 year old daughter (who is extremely well-behaved.) We were seated in a dark dingy corner of the restaurant with another family that had children. The menu states that 'children must remain seated and quiet AT ALL TIMES'. The area we were seated in was very small for such a group, so we asked if we could possibly be moved outside, as there were plenty of tables that weren't reserved. The owner was extremely hesitant to move us, but did in the end. We ordered a bottle of wine. The waitress came out with a different bottle, opened it and started to pour. When we mentioned that it was a different wine to the one we had ordered we were told that they were out of stock of the one we had asked for, so this was a replacement bottle that would be the same price. The wine that they brought out was a far inferior bottle to the one ordered so we asked them to take it back as we would not be paying the same amount for a $12 bottle of wine. We ordered our meals, including a parma for me, and a bowl of chips for my daughter. The meals came out, except for mine. Everybody had finished their meals and my daughter and I were still sitting waiting for ours. I had asked when the bowl of chips would at least be coming and was told rudely 'when it gets there' I waited over an hour for my meal and had to sit eating by myself once everybody had finished. We asked to speak to the manager as we were not very happy about what had happened. He wouldn't come out to talk to us but insisted we pay for the meal that was over an hour late to the table. What ensued was the most disgusting thing I have ever seen. We were screamed at, verbally abused, with one of the waitresses screaming out 'THEY HIT ME THEY HIT ME!' even though the restuarant was full of people that could very clearly see that nobody had been hit. My mother in law tried to reason with them, and they told her that she didn't have to 'protect her husband who is clearly a woman beater'! we paid for the service and left but I will NEVER EVER go back there again, and I would recommend nobody else do either If you are thinking of dining at The Ivy in Olinda please read other reviews as well first! The most horrific experience of my life. I'm surprised the place is still running.

One of my favorite restaurants. They have great pizza and gluten free options and you can order the pizza with just goats cheese if you are cow dairy intolerant like me. Really good quality food and wont make you feel heavy or sick like some restaurants. great atmosphere and art. Really recommend it.

The thin base pizza melts your mouth along with the high quality cheese and Italian toppings! Other meals at near by tables also looked amazing and very appetising. I will definitely be going back there very soon!!
