Decided to catch up with friends over lunch at Kent Hotel. It just so happened that it was a Friday and they had a nice range of specials on the board. I ordered the pot pie with mash and vegies. Meals were served within a reasonable timeframe. They were all a good serve. We decided to stay for a few drinks, 5 hours later we thought hmmm, maybe we should do this more often. I will definitely be back.

I have been to the Kent a few times, and most recently I went there with a friend who lives in Hamilton. It appeared that they had undergone renovations here since I last visited, and I like the new layout, it looks modern and spacious. We had lunch here and I got a seafood basket battered seafood dish with chips. The serving size was quite decent and the food was tasty and served nice and hot and was quite filling. I very much enjoyed mine. We didn't have to wait too long for the food to be ready and the staff were friendly enough. This is a good place for a nice hearty pub meal I have always found. The prices are reasonable and the quality is decent, and there is also a specials board available most of the times I have visited. All in all it is fairly typical hotel cuisine but I have always enjoyed it.

They have specials all week in the bistro, the food is always great as is the staff. They do get busy at times but its worth the wait. The bar itself is old style but its a great night out here.

The bistro is out the back of the main bar. The area is nice- open and bright with natural light from a kind of canopy/tent-like portion of the roof. The deals here are really good. We had the daily lunch deal- rump and reef- steak + seafood topping + chips + salad for $15. It was good and hearty and the staek cooked as ordered. The other thing that seemed popular was the $7.70 steak and salad (avail all the time). Pretty good value in my book.

The Kent is a large 'old style' hotel in the main street of Hamilton in Newcastle. I purchased a meal voucher to be used here one month prior! The bistro area is at the back of the hotel and was a great atmosphere of sandstone brick and wood! The menu was amazing for the price including pastas, steaks, seafood, salads and breads. I had a pasta dish and my partner lamb shanks. I was unable to finish my meal due to the size but tried hard as it was so tasty and fresh. My partners shanks just fell from the bone. It was not table service but that was expected. Staff were polite and friendly. Tables and toilet areas were all clean. Drinks could be purchased in pub area but meal was definitely above an expected pub quality. Children are welcome to eat there also as there is an entrance thru the back carpark. We will be back for sure and am looking forward to it.

I used a discount voucher when I went there for lunch. I paid $20 online for a $50 food and drink voucher. took 2 people with me and only paid $11 extra. Meals were a very good size, cooked to perfection. Staff very friendly. Would happily return.

Went there with my interstate cousin.Great food and plenty of it.Used a shopadocket which made it even better.The pork chops could feed two.chicken wings the same.Will be coming back

The food here is'nt the best but its cheap and worth the price. Great steaks i must say, and always cooked to perfection. Salad is nice. locals are nice. and the staff are very friendly. I would only come here on a work break or a quick feed with some friends. I wouldnt have a date or special dinner here, as its not exactly nice dining, but its "ok" for the price.

The food was nice and I like that they have a charger to tell you when your food is ready. The area is clean and pleasant.

The Kent Hotel has a good atmosphere is a nice place to have dinner as i had the T-BONE with veg it vas done well like a asked and has a nice beer garden :-)
