Really recommend the lunch 4 course degustation menu. We had it earlier this week & we are still raving about it. One of the best meals I have had in Victoria. It is world class! Recommend to anyone for a special occasion
Approximate cost: $165
I and some friends were at The Lakehouse today around 12 noon. I realise that the breakfast menu ended at 11,30 but didn't think it would be an imposition to ask if I could have a bowl of the granola. The waitress was quite abrupt and unfriendly. My other three friends did order lunch, which to be honest, was very ordinary.
If you're going to stay in Daylesford, do it in style! The Lakehouse is luxurious and beautiful, with a good restaurant on site. Rooms are lovely, and the place is on the lake. Lovely!
Not a cheapy, but then you get what you pay for!
The Lakehouse has both to offer accommodation situated right on Lake daylesford and restaurant which offer great food and drinks. A bit pricey but very much worth the money. Staff are very professional
I'm looking to stay at Daylesford soon and will give this place a look in I think.
Not cheap, I'd prefer to go to crown for the price and better food but when you're in the area for a special occasion, it was a one off good night. Food wasnt great, but nice. Wouldnt go back after visited already though
We went to the lakehouse and tried the degustation menu. While it was impressive food and the service was amazing it just didn't leave us with that dazzled and amazed feeling that we expected from a restaurant such as the lakehouse. The wine selection was amazing. It was a very fine dining experience but it fell a little short/
Approximate cost: $275 for two of us with one drink each
The Lakehouse has a great reputation as the premier dining destination in the Daylesford-Hepburn Springs region so it has a lot to live up to. Fortunately in most respects it meets expectations. The dining room is lovely with views of the lake and decorated with striking paintings, the service is polished and knowledgable and the food very well cooked and beautifully presented. The menu sounds quite interesting and has a strong central European influence. Where the restaurant is a bit disappointing is in the flavours which are somewhat pedestrian and lacking in creativity. The prices are also pretty high, but are as you'd expect for the quality of ambiance and service.
love it hear... gorgeous views. a bit pretentious, but hey it's absolutely stunning inside... great decor, amazing food... lovely. Pricey but worth it
Approximate cost: $60
Absolutely beautiful food, worthy of it's two chef's hats in The Age Good Food Guide. Fresh seasonal produce, delicate creativity and a magical setting for dinner. Unfortunately let down by slightly rude and impersonal service by one staff member for the first half of the meal, although it was just an unlucky experience - they other staff were fantastic.
A fantastic place for incredible food and a special occasion.
Approximate cost: $100-150 per head
A bit on the pricey side but worth it for special occasions. The food is consistently superb and the wine list impressive. On our last visit we dined as a party of 4 adults and 2 toddlers (16 months) and the staff were great and very sweet to the children
Great experience if you have the money, but couldnt' believe the spa people upsold products at a place like this, can make you feel like you don't belong.
