I was really impressed with both the cut and colour. My former hairdressers were great but never made suggestions. Milena suggested instead of foils, I bleach. I decided to take the plunge and I love it! The cut is beautiful. Instead of recommending the straight blow dry that most hairdressers seem to revert to, milena dried my hair with body and life. Her hair products are lovely. A little pricey if you are on a budget, but given that they're handmade and smell out of this world, they're well worth it. I will definitely be going back and will recommend Melina to others. She was professional, personable, quirky, and best of all - she knows what she's doing with hair. And to me, that's the most important thing!!! I also like that milena does the whole thing - cut and colour. I've been to too many expensive sydney hairdressers where you're shoved from colorist to stylist - waiting ridiculous times in between. But not milena. She did the whole thing herself and I couldn't be happier.

Hairdresser took over 2 hours to wash, put in a dark brown semi colour trim and blowdry and then charged me $280 for it. Hairdresser consistently interrupted the appointment with SMSing on mobile phone, apparently to 'very important people in the film and photography industry staff might have a jobs with'. they as a film and advertising producer taking two hours to complete a hair job will not 'cut it' in the industry. Be quick, concise and efficient. The best hair dressers on set are personable with the talent but focused on the bottom line. Time equals money and you are not the only stakeholder. Additional to this I specifically asked for no layers as I wear a straight bob- to my disbelief staff cut in the thickest dirtiest layer I have ever seen in my life. When I pointed this out to hairdresser simply replied 'oh your split ends were much worse on the top layer so a did that...yes...right...sure.' I cut the bottom layer off and it looks much better, please listen to your clients. Charging $280 for that experience = one customer who will never return.

I've been to see Milena 3 times now and each time is better than the last. I couldn't find a better salon if I tried. Milena is quick, my last cut was done in about 15 mins, professional and experienced and above all, friendly and down to earth. She's been doing her thing for a long, long time and it shows in her skill. She also has a really good range of products for any kind of style you could be wanting. My last cut was Don Draper style and she recommended I use her gel with comes in a convenient spray bottle that sets dry and combs out with no flakes which is a great combination of features for any guy. And the best part of going to her salon is that it's you, Milena and the furniture. No other staff, no other customers which makes it all the more a great experience. I recommend her to everyone and she's won me over.

I was performing in a concert of 1930s tango music and not only had to dress the part, but had to have a '30s hairstyle. I couldn't believe how Milena transformed me into a 1930s goddess. All the other musicians were amazed at my transformation and when I turned up at the concert hall, I was lavished compliments. I felt on top of the world and felt great on stage that evening. I had walked into the salon with long hair that badly needed a cut. Straightaway Milena worked out what needed to be done: snip, snip, rollers, brushing, combing, curls, spray. She used all her skill gained over many years, plus her artistic talent to create a style that totally suited me. You're an artist and a star, Milena. Thank you!

I did nothing to provoke the management and very polite during my stay there yet the management was extremely rude when I did not want to purchase a moisturising product, walking behind the back before saying loudly 'fine have dry hair then!'. I was shocked and very sad by that comment. I have product at home. The management kept disagreeing with what I wanted. I was very surprised by this. And also refused to blowdry my fringe saying it was 'fine' even though it was curly and did not match the rest of my hair. You dont pay $90 to not have the fringe done. The other staff was the only one who listened to my request and did the best. As I paid I said to the other staff 'must be having a bad day, but thank you for your help'. No point trying to argue with the management.

My hair was cut wayyyy too short & I hid it for a few days but ended up liking it after a while. (I'd love to know why all hairdressers do this, seriously why?) I liked the cut, loved the black colour which I assumed was permanent because I paid almost $300 for the whole hair do, but it washed out in 4 weeks. Boo disappointing. It was a bit over priced but that's the norm in Newtown. There's some cool styling products in there and the lady was friendly and fun

I went to see Melinda from the leopard lounge for a major over hall. going there was the best idea I have ever had, my work roster makes it hard when trying to make appointments but not with Melinda she opened the shop for me and did such a fantastic job on my new style. The atmosphere and service you receive as soon as you step into the salon is like no other, she won my loyalty. Angela

Leopard Lounge was absolutely an amazing all round experience. Everything from when you first walk in the door and are welcomed with fitting classic and upbeat music which paired with the lovely eclectic collection of vintage inspired magazines, furniture, decor and fashion - a true beauty parlour. With not much idea of what I wanted, I was recommended by a friend Sharni and walked out it possibly the best cut and style I've had. To add to that, I've been through a lot of generic hair products and was introduced to some home made ones from Milena which had more instant results then anything else I've used with my hair. I walked out confident, happy and best of all: relieved to meet someone who simply understands a vintage do - will return.

I am a Sydney native but live overseas in Europe. I made a short visit to Sydney recently to visit family and decided to get a haircut here as my fringe/ bangs and hair were getting too long. I went to the Leopard Lounge and had a cut and colour last Friday, mainly on the strength of these reviews. I did not get the haircut I specified and I am very upset. I brought in pictures of the haircut I wanted. This is a haircut that I have been maintaining for a while at my regular hairdresser in Europe. I didn't think it would be too hard to replicate again. The haircut pictures included Jean Shrimpton and Krysten Ritter. Basically long hair with a small fringe with little gappy bits in it. I came out with hair that did not look as it did in the pictures - my fringe is very thick and wide. My boyfriend calls me "Cousin It" and my sister "Scooby Do". It looks, in my opinion terrible, and I am stuck trying to grow it out. I am hoping that my regular hairdresser can fix it up somehow but I cannot really see how that can be done. The cut and colour cost $270 which also seemed a lot. But probably my fault as I did not clarify the exact price before I got it done. I phoned and emailed the hairdresser directly to complain which left me feeling worse. I was at least hoping for an apology and refund of some money to go towards fixing it up as a gesture. But the hairdresser did not think they had done anything wrong and claimed they didn't cut any extra hair in my fringe than had already been cut. I disagree.
