Love this place for brunch. I recommend the Zucchini fritters and the salmon. Coffee is very very nice from here too
Very popular breakfast and lunch spot. Lovely outdoor tables available which are really nice to sit at during the warmer months. Generous portion sizes and great coffee.
Love the Little Ox. This is my favourite spot to come in Bayside for breakfast. Service is great and food is really good!
Love the Little Ox <3 Perfect coffee and food every time. I love coming here. Tip though: come during the week, the weekend is too busy and you often have to queue for a table!
Love this place! Friendly waiters and staff. Fantastic coffee and food is good too. I recommend the Veggie Omelette with turkish bread, filling and delicious
Went here for breakfast today. Delicious! I had scrambled eggs on toast with an almond milk latte.
DON'T MAKE A COMPLAINT OR SUGGESTION HERE!
I have been ordering "extra hot skinny latte" here and receiving "luke warm". I had put up with this for too long and took the glass to the counter this morning and asked who made the coffee and asked the barista to feel the temperature of the coffee. He said "do you want me to make another one" and I said "no, I just wanted to let you know. Upon paying my bill the barista said that I should have just said" the coffee wasn't quite hot enough and could you make me another one" then the manager chimed in by saying"yeah, it was patronising to get him to feel the coffee".
Are these guys serious? They're now telling customers (ex-customers) how to complain. Upon paying I was expecting either a "sorry mate, I'll make sure it hotter next time" or "sorry mate, the coffee is on us". Not to be! I'll not be going back and will be telling my story to anyone who will listen.
seriously i do hope management read this review and take note of your experiences!!! you had made a reasonable and polite request of how you would like your coffee and its not very good of the way the staff behaved themselves
If you're not happy with the coffee, politely explain why and ask them to replace the coffee. I agree you don't have to be patronising.
Working in customer service I see both sides, you don't have to be a d***
I absolutely love this place. It offers great atmosphere and comfortable relaxed surrounds. Perfect for brunch.
The menu itself is varied, with the usual brunch items as well as salads and more lunch-y options. Everything we had was delicious, fresh and interesting. Not cheap (price to servings ratio) but it is not unreasonable considering the location, surrounding competition, vibe and friendly service.
The Little Ox is a cute little cafe in Brighton that is becoming incredibly popular. To get a seat your best bet is to go on a weekday and before or after lunch. They have a great range of items on their menu-many are cafe favourites but with a twist. I had the corn fritters with ham and avocado and they were so good-very filling and presented really well. I also had their pancakes with banana, blueberries and candied pistachios. Out of the two I preferred the corn fritters as I felt the pancakes were missing some cream, icecream or some more sauce. Overall the food was really good and good value too. It can be hard to get service at times as they are very busy so you can be waiting a while before you can get your order in.
Delicious breakfasts. Some really interesting meals on there too. Staff are friendly and efficient.
Approximate cost: $19
