Terrible food my partner and I were very disappointed

The food here is really good, but the prices are a bit too high. It has a great atmosphere, but the service was a little slow.

This is probably my favourite city restaurant, although I cannot afford to go there too often due to the prices. If you are willing to pay and book well ahead, it is a great experience and atmosphere. It is dark and intimate with very tasteful décor. The cocktail list is the most extensive I have seen. After dinner you can stay on for drinks in their underground bar called 'Charlie's Bar'. Great night out.

They do very nice (and I do mean very nice) food. The service is average. They have quite an extensive drinks menu as they are linked with Charlie's Bar which is downstairs from them.
The prices are average for this area.

The mill has a great ambience - atmosphere. It was pretty hard to the staff attention. The food was pretty decent. might or might not to dine there again.

My wife & I have been looking forward to experiencing the atmosphere of dining in Hardware Lane for some time. But the experience was soured by having to deal with other patrons standing next to our table & smoking. Came away disappointed. But the food was good. My son raved about the fish & chips.

Ate from the set menu with the 2 courses for $50. I had Stir fried scallops, & my friend had Salted squid entrée. Mains were Lamb rack & Eye fillet steak which were cooked exactly as we had ordered them. Outdoor dining was good atmosphere with candles on tables although it was a little dim. Service was slow - took ages for food to come out. Felt as though we were rushed out when we had finished meal and said we didn't want dessert.

This restaurant has a nice atmosphere.
Lighting is very muted and almost dark. The waitstaff can be hard to find, but are generally ok. Food is at the better end of hardware lane standard.

Wonderful restaurant tucked away in Hardware Lane. We met for drinks first downstairs in Charlie's Bar, the bar was so good we almost didn't make it upstairs for dinner. But I'm glad we did, food was fantastic - make sure you save room for the cheese plate, best one I've had in Melbourne! Highly recommended, can't wait to go back soon.
