In January 2022 ,i was admitted to the Northern Hospital in Epping with terrible backpain. After i was there for 5 hours on emergency bed, I asked the nurse for glass of water, she said go to the canteen, or from the machine just around the corner. I said i can't walk, am in terrible pain, I said can i give you money get me a bottle please? she said no to busy.
When finally, they got me a bed, i asked another nurse for water and something to eat, i said i had nothing to eat sine last night, she said we have no water jugs, and no food in the fridge, at 5 pm i called my wife and she brought me water and sandwiches, which the security brought it over, because it was during covid.
The Doctor, I think his name was Joseph was an angel, he took care of my situation.
It was a tribble experience.
Now on 18 May 2023, i had been sent by my doctor to the emergency.
The waiting was too long, nearly 5 hrs.
But when i been called in, i been seen by the doctor's nurse, named Dolly. She is of ethnic background, she was very friendly, kind, caring and very helpful, even the other nurses, were fantastic too.
Today i had CT scan done at the same Hospital.
All the staff were terrific and friendly.

I spent a week in the northern hospital after breaking my ankle. The surgeons & nurses were excellent in every way possible, so caring, professional, attentive, friendly & i couldnt fault a single thing. Thankyou for looking after me :)

Just another example of why hospitals need to be properly funded in Victoria, understaffed, full and unclean. Some of the staff are okay, but a lot seemed overworked and very disgruntled. I've heard bad things from a few of my friends that stayed there as patients too.

In all fairness the staff are certainly overworked! i have been there several times at emergency dept for loved ones and I found the nurses and doctors to be very caring and efficient. they do the best they can in the circumstances of their workplace. yes i agree more funding should be given to public hospitals but thats something which our government should address.

This hospital is always busy and never has enough staff or beds for people. This though i am sure is the governments fault which is a shame as we need hospitals that can cater for the community.
Of course as this is a public hospital you expect to wait but gee waiting in emergency with a sick child for over 6 hours is a long time!

Sometimes hospitals get a bad rap, often deservedly so. I know a few people who have had babies in this hospital and have been very happy, the staff were always friendly and helpful when I went to visit, and the ladies were keen to go back, next time around.

Sitting in the waiting room listening to everyone complain how rude the staff at reception is. Even though it has just been renovated, the staff here seem very run down and definitely impatient. I can understand the amount of stress they would need to put up with but it just looks terrible and the environment seems terrible and negative. When seeing the doctor after an hr wait (and I had an appointment). The doctor is quick and brief leaving you feel a little crappy. But overall its ok but can understand why people would want to go with private insurance after a visit here, funding is in need here with the staff...

not a favourite of mine always packed nobody around to help when needed very understaffed the car parking can be a nightmare on tuesdays and seem to be quite ruthless in fees thought being not that old since its only a refreshed panch hospital that it would have been a lot cleaner.

Yes I agree its a problem with our hospitals they are under funded!!! I personally found the staff at the emergency department to be very polite and helpful when I visited one occasion previously.

really poor. What a state our medical system is in. Unfriendly rude emergency triage. Unclean hospital. Poor treatment. Horrible atmosphere. Understaffed. Really poor medical staff knowledge. Too many conflicting opinions and treatments. Lazy and rude nursing staff. Really needs a shake up.
