Very unassuming exterior and interior, but lovely service and incredibly delicious food. Very much recommend the lemongrass prawns.

The biggest menu I have seen - there is something for everyone here.

Simple, honest food so don't expect all the bells and whistles expected from the business name. One would expect the Hainanese Chicken Rice to be awesome here but it isn't so. So I don't recommend this.

The Lobak is good as well as the Penang Char Kuey Teow.

Prices are cheap here and so is the decor but I usually get take-away.

Recommended for a cheap night in take-away food.

We love this place. The food is really good, perhaps a little spicy, but nice. We have only been here twice and both times the food was excellent. The waiting staff are prompt and courteous. We really enjoyed it.

decor includes pictures of the singapore skyline at night. place run by singaporeans (confirmed from their accents). purportedly trained hainanese singaporean chefs. tried their hainanese chicken rice and hor fun didn't taste very nice. also tried mee goreng and fried carrot cake. pretty alright overall i suppose. they serve singapore brews tiger beer as well.

Visiting Raffles Place on a Sunday early we thought we'd try the chicken rice which has been given such high praise. Unfortunately our expectations of good chicken rice were not met which was most disappointing given the rave reviews from friends and family. The chicken lacked any real flavour as did the rice that went along with it. The taste of the chicken was plain, no aroma - it was more of something you made yourself at home in a hurry and the rice was lukewarm. It may just be that we picked a bad day however inconsistency for a restaurant is no excuse. The Lobak ordered was much better, almost like back in Singapore however was also not very hot when it arrived. The same problem happened with the carrot cake - the outside was hot but the inside cold and we had to send it back to be heated so the inside of the carrot cake pieces could be heated. Overall a very disappointing experience for above average prices at comparable venues. As mentioned by others, service is poor with only three tables occupied at middday yet we had to either constantly flag down the waitress or just go and get things by ourselves (eg spoon, chilli sauce etc). "No lah, we not get Singapore Hawker real taste lah".

food is good, taste is very authentic singaporean/malaysian! however, the service can be improved by leaps and bounds. the staff are very selective when it comes to providing good service. it seems like they treat the locals better than asians from what i observed. the prices are quite high for asian hawker cuisine but the taste kind of offsets it.

Great traditional Malaysian style food! Can be abit spicy for some!! Small family business. good service but the restuarant is small and tables limited. So better book in advance.

Friendly staff, speedy servous, delicious food. Raffles has chefs that create authentic food as close to the style and quality of food that was produced at the original Raffles Place in singapore. The atmosphere is perfect for the sole diner as well as the group bookings.
