I had an amazing high tea with my mum and sister here and it was really yummy! It's so lovely how you get to smell the teas off the tea tray and chose one and the quality of teas here are excellent. I am a big tea drinker so I was very satisfied. The service is amazing, by far the best service I have come across and I eat out regularly. You are made to feel welcome and the waitresses are exceptionally attentive. The surroundings are beautiful and the table settings are unlike anything else on the gold coast. Fine china, lace tablecloths, silver spoons, silver tea strainers! I have eaten there many times since and have always enjoyed it. Would highly recommend it, its a real gem.

We had high hopes for The Old Teahouse Gallery; the location is fantastic, but this alone was the highlight. The food quality was below par, an example being the chocolate caramel cup - lumpy caramel and strange tasting chocolate was not good. There really weren't any highlights to speak of unfortunately, but as said, the surroundings were very pleasant and the service was acceptable. Would certainly go back, but only if the menu significantly improved. Finally, the cost of $42 per head represented poor value.
