Plumber turned up promptly i a time of real need for us, we had a blocked toilet on the day before my fathers funeral, with family about to arrive to stay over.
Carl was very professional and friendly. He didn't mind my cat supervising his work. My toilet now works perfectly.
Both times we have used this business they have been prompt and professional Cameron was very polite and explained everything that was going on so we could understand we were extremely happy

Not recommended at the moment. They're having trouble getting electricians even though we signed up and paid for their VIP service. My experience is that they have challenges following through from the initial phone calls to appointments and proactive following through of concerns. We had to chase appointments over a period of months. We had two of their electricians visit to assess in order to allocate time for the next visit to conduct the work. It went very quiet after that. We eventually cancelled out VIP membership and went elsewhere and got the work done in one week. I wish them the best in the future of their business as I know it can be challenging in a busy market.
I booked the plumber for saturday morning and he phoned and was here on time (actually slightly before time). Found Sean to be courteous, helpful and professional. Communicated what needed to be done and how much it would cost. Checked all components on hot water heater and told me it was OK and was a supply problem. Rang Ausgrid for me and booked them to look at their equipment.
Oct 11 2017: final update about these appalling shonks before I put all this behind me. They finally got back to me and verified my membership cancelation. As for "conducting a review" that's come to nothing, just a stalling tactic.
Bottom line: do not under any circumstances have anything to do with this company.

I feel rather ashamed (not to mention ripped off) [Retracted inflammatory comment]. A tap needed replacing (hot and cold together, so a bit tricky). The guy from The Plumbing & Electrical Doctor comes around and quotes $598 including $199 membership, or even more (ie over $600) without membership. Then goes through a rigmarole we've all seen on telly (though usually involving used a car salesman): he knocks $100 off, saying he might get in trouble with the boss for this but he'll wear it. I kind of rolled my eyes at that, but I needed this done today. These taps probably cost a bit, I thought. And if I'd refused, of course there would have been a call-out fee.
So I became a member, it took him 10 minutes to install; I paid $499.
Then I googled the tap and it retails for $59.95.
In addition, there’s a clause in the one-year membership form stipulating that if you don’t want it to roll into the next year (at $100 per year) you have to cancel it more than a month before the end of the first year! I doubt this can actually be legal. Anyway, I’ve emailed them cancelling it, as there is no way on earth I’ll use this bunch again, even at “membership” prices.
Amazing really. Live and learn. (I don't yet know about the quality so have given it 3 stars.)
Update: now I've seen the other reviews, below. Wish I'd read them before contacting this bunch! And yes, as with some other customers, this guy tried to sell me all sorts of other work, the water tank was getting dangerous, water pressure too high, etc.
Update on 9 October. Have cancelled membership for next year with them in writing four times (by email, online form and Twitter) but am unable to get acknowledgement from them. I fear them taking $100 from credit card in a year's time, and all the rigmarole involved in trying to get it back.

Scanning the activity in reviews below, I'm not holding out much hope.
I reckon as he was here for 30-40 minutes (much of which was which was spent wasting my time talking bullshit about membership blaah blaah - oh and I've removed the advertising sticker he put on our water tank) plus a $60 part, a charge of $250 would be more than generous to you. So a $250 refund would be nice. Your business model seems to have been learnt in Nigerian scam school: trap the customer into throwing good money after bad.
Speaking of which, I've emailed twice about this with no response: I'm giving you 12 months notice that I won't be renewing my "membership" next year. Can you please acknowledge receipt?

They quoted me to fix the hot water around $700.00 and they can't fix the problem they asked me to change the whole hot water system which cost me more than $2000

We are not able to comment on the repair offered to you by the third party, only on the work that we offered, which included the recommended safe repair. It was then determined when trying to carry out this repair that it was not the best option provided, and as such work was ceased and the recommendation given to replace the unit.
Our $49 travel charge covers the cost of getting a technician to your property to provide you with the best options on how to complete the required work. Because all our workmanship is covered by lifetime guarantees, it means our tradespeople make the best recommendations, and don't look for a cheap and easy fix, as in the long run this is rarely the best solution.
We respect your decision not to proceed with the secondary recommendation and you were not charged for the work that we commenced but did not complete. We hope that the repair you have been provided with meets your needs.

Pity I didn't read the reviews before I booked them. I called them as I had two leaking hot water taps in my bathroom and a leaking mixer. Was told that to quote it would be $49, no problem with that. The plumber was polite, called before he was coming, no problem with that either. What I have a problem with is being charged $1359 and some change. As he was doing the work he was giving estimates was told $199 to become a member, "which would pay for itself for the service that was needed". Was told $500 - $600 to replace the taps, which weren't replace, but perhaps the spindles were. Was told $163 to do an acid wash in our ensuite. So not sure why we were charged so much. Asked for an itemised account and was told they didn't do that. I have asked for some of my money back, so will be interesting to see what happens from here. Absolutely will not use these people again.

Depending on the work being carried out, often the cost of the membership ($199) is offset by the savings received for the work carried out. If the technician has recommended this then it is likely that the saving would have exceeded $199 which is why it was offered to you.

Avoid this business. They function in a very peculiar way. First contact by phone is via a call centre (I assume overseas), and information re probable cost is not clearly provided. Their rates turn out to be extortionate, and designed to pressure the consumer into joining 'a club', which appears in turn designed to secure further business (eg they provide a multiplicity of 'inspections' and 'checks', which will doubtless then generate the need for further expenditure). We were told (after the job, which took about 10 minutes, and required no new parts) that we'd be charged $370, unless we joined their 'club' - which cost $199. Looking back, we should have demanded to know the cost before the job was done, but we are used to dealing with ethical businesses and tradespeople. Throughout the visit, attempts were made to upsell us further services. The experience has left a very sour taste in my mouth, and I would never use this business again.

Customers of our business benefit from fixed up front pricing prior to any commencement of work. This allows the customer to know exactly what they will be paying before they accept. For us to be able to deliver this service though, it does necessitate one of our tradespeople attending site to see what it is they are providing a price on. This is why are CSR's are not able to give a price over the phone, simply because they do not know what the price will be.
From reading your comments is suggests that you were not provided with a fixed up front price before work commenced. If this is the case then we can appreciate your frustration and would like to investigate the matter further.
The price you state also seems high for the service you have stated so we would like to check this for you as well.

I would not recommend the Doctor as I was overcharged. I paid $318 to have my one down light installed which took 15 minutes.
I took the matter to Dept. Fair Trading who spoke to the Doctor. The Doctor was not prepared to consider any credit. Seems they can charge what they like and get away with it.
Please be aware folks and don't get overcharged like I did

Kane was just recently at our place to have a look and replace some of our power points, he was very friendly, professional and more than happy to walk around our big house checking all the wires to ensure they were safe. He replaced 5 different power points and 3 light globes for us within an hour. These people are charging a call out fee but it's really a fee to quote as they have no intention of actually doing the work on the day. That's if they turn up at all. Messed around twice and I was left $49 out of pocket for nothing. Quote was so high $900 and I had work completed by another company for $200.
If you are going to charge a travel fee then that should be clearly stated, especially when your technicians are not going to do any work at the time they visit. They are just there to quote and that should be made clear at the time of booking. This practice is extremely misleading and deceptive work practice. A courtesy safety inspection was not offered at the time your technician was there.

If you feel that they travel fee was not communicated to you at the time of booking then we definitely need to investigate it for you. We record all our calls for training so if you can please call us and let us know your address then we will look in to this further.
Likewise, our tradespeople should only put off completing the work if there was a reason that they could not complete the job on the day. Again, we would be happy to investigate this for you.

As you failed to do any work on the initial appointment as your technician "didn't have time to do the job then" even though I explained in detail what was needed and you failed to attend at the rescheduled appointment, refund my money as a good will gesture. I requested this but was told no.
Have had a number of jobs done by the company and have always found them professional and willing to give pros and cons on work to be done. Have followed their advice and have no complants. Appreciate their reliability and contact before arriving to commence work

I arranged for an Electrician to come out and quote to replace one existing power point. First of all he did an "audit" and said that the power board was "unsafe". Said I need to upgrade to include safety switches even though I told him they (RCD) were already installed on the two power points which were at the beginning of the circuits. He proceeded to prepare a written quote and came back after about 10 mins with over $250!! to replace the power point and pushed this Annual Membership for discounted services. The prices were extremely excessive ( compared to numerous quotes I obtained subsequently from other regular Electricians for the power point). He was confused trying to explain the prices to me and I was even more so. They seem to focus on upselling at ridiculous prices so that you purchase the Membership. You are still requires to pay the call out fee of $49 even though you don't accept their ridiculous quote which he didn't even bother to give to me - which is why I cannot quote the exact prices given. I would not recommend this Company. Use your local friendly Electricians who will do exactly as you requested at reasonable prices.

I was not happy after calling electrician on a Friday for a tripping switch, cost $524 to replace an outdoor power socket, of which over $200 was to find the fault (we had more or less done that before he got here and took him less than 5mins. That evening the next switch on powerboard was tripping and arc-ing. Called them back but couldn't come till Monday and then he tried to tell me it was a faulty light switch. The light he was turning on was an outside light he couldn't see was working!
Anyway, turned out he had linked the replacement outdoor power socket to the wrong fuse on the power-board.
I was not left with a copy of the work sheet/invoice, but was left feeling rather uncomfortable about how competent the serviceman was, our house had been left unsafe, and ripped off as well. Won't call them again.

Unfortunately I am unable to give negative stars. Absolutely disgusted with the price quoted to replace hot water system for my daughter's elderly father-in-law @ Buff Point on Central Coast on Tuesday 13/9/16. He was quoted > $3000 to replace hws. Also quoted $300+ to fix tap at water meter which is a free service from local council. Lucky my son-in-law rang my husband (who happens to be a plumbing inspector and licensed plumber to boot) who organised another plumber to come out. Hot water service has now been replaced $1300 including gst and labour and he fixed the leaking tap in the kitchen. Also tap at meter has been replaced at no cost. These people are taking advantage of the elderly and vulnerable who often have no-one to advise or help them. No comment back from this company could ever convince me to recommend them to anyone.

Work was very professional. Waiting time was minimal compared to other companies. Costs were given before work began and there were several phone calls to let you know exactly when they would be there. The technicians were so friendly and helpful and the latest was amazing the way he handled an emergency situation involving an ambulance for me.

Very overpriced service. I wanted to replace four light fittings in the house before we move out (that we had bought already). Quoted price was $760 and replacing a $15 transformer would cost $240. Replacing a globe in an outside light was an extra $225! They pushed their annual membership hard and wanted to put their advertising stickers on everything as well. Needless to say I went with a normal sparky that charged $95/hour for this one and a half hour job.

The bottom line is this company, whilst their customer service is brilliant, the fact is they are just too expensive. We were quoted over $600 to install a 2 heater bathroom light and fan combo. $400 for a single GPO. We had the bathroom completed for $170.00. As a retirement village resident I believe we were nearly taken for a ride. So make sure you get a second or third quote.
