This is one of the better cafes I have been to in this area. The staff were very attentive and cleared plates efficiently. Also they were very helpful when I had questions about the food on offer and their knowledge of the menu was very good. I visited for breakfast and just had something quick and easy. I ordered fruit toast and a coffee and I didn't have to wait long to receive it. Overall a great experience, which had a lot to do with the friendly service.

Delicious. Definitely more than just a brunch cafe, they have a style of their own with a slight british leaning.
The lunch options are really good, and definitely go beyond the sandwich, salad, soup items. Case in point - Slow roasted pulled pork with pineapple chutney, red cabbage slaw and a dill pickle.

The Premises serve great coffee (Seven Seeds) and lovely seasonal food. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, going out of their way to chat to regulars and make them feel comfortable.

Some recent foodie treats: black truffles from Tasmania (served with fluffy scrambled eggs) & home-made lamb sausages dotted with pine nuts. Their breaky roll is also lovely, featuring home-made tomato relish, thickly sliced bacon and free-range egg.

The cafe also sells a variety of coffee-making equipment such as the excellent Hario Buono pouring kettle. This kettle is beautifully made stainless steel with an ergonomic design. If we didn't already have a 50's inspired duck egg blue whistling kettle, we would have snapped up the Hario for sure.

The only drawback is that, like Seven Seeds, this cafe is so popular that you sometimes have to wait for a seat. But it's so friendly and reliably good that you don't mind.

Approximate cost: $20

Some of the best coffee in Melbourne can be sampled here. If you are a coffee connoisseur you will LOVE this cafe. The food is pretty good too. Great for weekend brunch!

Really great food and coffee, a la Pope Joan. Popular for brunch. Not cheap, but premium quality offerings. Not much for the kids menuwise, but good space for a pram.

Approximate cost: $20.00
