An iconic Melbourne pub - head down for the music, the beer garden and the huge meals! We've never had a bad night out there.

Great Aussie pub, a Brunswick institution. Front bar and beer garden is one of the best. Has pool table and pinball!! Music is usually spot on during the week and weekend days. Good honest pub food with great specials

The Retreat is a very charming pub. Warm and cosy with bargain Monday parma night, the Retreat is a popular go to pub for my family and I. The staff are also worth mentioning, always cheery, always great.

Great big generous serves on offer here. They do a good parma and chips. Being seated upstairs has been a problem-I have been forgotten, promised dessert menus not brought up, little annoying things like that. I never seem to be able to get a seat downstairs, but I'm sure it would be less of a problem as there are more staff roaming down there. The wait staff only come upstairs to take your initial drinks and mains orders, deliver the food, but then they don't seem to return.

Go for beers or a glass of wine. More often a pretty quiet atmosphere with very helpful and friendly staff. Good selection of all beers wines and spirits, and the menu in the bar is faultless in its variety for a pub with some standards, a few nice surprises and a good specials board.
Jazz on Sunday arvo's and if you're lucky, the bloke next door often has the telescope out on the pavement for any romantic stargazers, and a meat tray raffle for the RCH on Fridays at 7pm.

Loved it! Went in on a Sunday afternoon for a drink and to suss the place out. It is gorgeous! Very english and old school at the same time. Great friendly bar staff, food menu looked tasty. Definately would be a nice cosy place in the winter. We were there on a warm spring day so with the doors open and it was very relaxing and we didnt want to leave!
