Met my friend for coffee/lunch New Year's Day - that in itself was a bonus - Shingle Inn was open. We arrived at 9am started with Flat White/Decaf Flat White Coffees stayed until Lunch (Chicken Waldorf Salad + Sweet Potato & Baby Spinach Salad) and finished around 2.45pm with Coffee/Decadent Hot Chocolate. At no point were we "hurried"on, which was lovely - we found a nice booth at the back and just sat and chatted and watched other customers come and go throughout the day. A few little things could be improved - water station at front was running on empty from the start of the day, and was warm - perhaps fill to brim and put some ice in it? - My Chicken Waldorf Salad arrived without the walnuts - staff were very apologetic and promptly fixed the situation - Decadent Hot Chocolate - great concept of mixing hot melted chocolate into frothed milk (unfortunately not that hot) and 2 small marshmallows to add to the mix - yummy, but could have been hotter... other than those small things, had a lovely day and will certainly be returning!
