Partner made a reservation for valentines night this year.
From the moment we walked in the door to the time we left 2 hrs later we couldnt have been more pleased.
The service, food and atmosphere is just wonderful.
We were greeted, seated and served our drinks.
The. Cool mountain breeze thru the windows was welcome relief on a qld hotter than hot night.
Fairy lights on a tin roof were lovely.candles on the tables decorated with tiny syptars ,hearts and rose petals was a lovely touch.
We ordered entrėes of the chowder and trio,of prawns. My partner kept raving about his chowder as i teased about my prawns of 2 garlic, coconut which i adored and tempura served in a bamboo steamer. The chowder comes in a cob loaf and looked good
Our mains were the fish and chips for me,barramundi and moreton bay bugs also served in a bamboo steamer with 3 diff sauces on the side. My chips were so big and thick and came in a small wire basket on the plate, very cute.
Nothing was over powering and you could taste the freshness of the seafood.white juicy pieces of fish and a nice little salad in an edible tortilla basket, unusual and delicate. We watched food around us being served and everything looked so damn good.
Tables werent close and easily manouverable for the customers . The wait staff are older gen and lovely, not jn your face and plates were removed a few minutes after finishing. They were friendly,we met the owners ,pauline and craig and complimented them on such a beautiful night.
In the day time the view from the restaurant is breathtaking,at night the twinkle of the lights from the city is lovely.
The orange chocolates, well i think they were orange ,served at the end of the meal are so smooth and delectable
Clean, romantic and rustic. No wonder they win awards
this place is such a pleasure and so relaxing. Like walking into nans kitchen, welcoming and relaxed. Prices are as expected and we spent about $140 but so worth it. Thanks guys and anyone wanting to try it please do

During our holiday in Queensland we decided to take a trip to Maleny, recommended by my step-daughter. After having a look around we spotted this restaurant and decided on the spur of the moment to have lunch there. I am so glad we did as I chose the salmon which was perfectly cooked and my husband had the tempura battered fish. Presentation was awesome. We lived in Tasmania on the Huon River and used to get salmon given to us so it was a real treat to have a lovely reminder of how yummy the Tassie Salmon is. The view of the mountains was very special and so was the service. Highly recommend to anyone visiting the area.

frequented this place quite a few times, only once has it been substandard with the food. very busy no matter what time. views from the outside verandah are spectacular of the bushland and mountains . have taken quite a few photos sitting here after lunch. partner had pizza which was great, i tend to stick to seafood. we were seated fairly quickly and then no came to us for 20 min and others that walked in after us were being served so i went to the old guy tha towns or runs the place to ask what was happening with us. he was a bit blunt and rude but i let it go. our order waqs taken in a few minutes and then nothing for another half hour. only time its ever happened. the seafood is beautiful and abundant, the servings are large so be starving when you go there. ,lots of little craft shops along the main street after you have had lunch. place is clean and open, vast menu and we will frequent it on day trips on weekends .one off day isnt putting us off :P

We stopped in on the chance of getting a table today and luckily they had one for us. They got pretty busy shortly after we arrived. What a wonderful surprise .... The food was sensational, fresh, tasty and creative. The Cajun salmon was divine, the chicken filled with sundried tomatoes and avocado mousse was superb, the sides were so tasty. Then the was The Trio dessert ... OMG delightful. The staff were very attentive and lovely. Have been talking about our lovely lunch all day :-)

We came here for lunch - stunning views and it was not busy so we had good service and good food... looking at the other reviews.. perhaps it is better as a couple and whilst it is quiet! We had a good time and chatted with the owner. Discappointing to read those comments below. No, it is not a WOW. Even when quiet.

My partner had arranged a romantic seafood dinner through Red Balloon for us at the Terrace of Maleny. It started off well and we ordered appetizers off the menu which were fantastic - great flavors and high quality ! The service early in the evening was superb. As the night progressed and the restaurant filled up the service declined drastically until you had to flag down the staff for water. The highlight of the evening was to be a house specialty seafood platter. While it was large, the mix of hot and cold fish and fruit was not very pleasant. The taste of the fish dishes got into the fruit and the hot items warmed up the cold ones. Not everything seemed to have been freshly prepared. I was hoping for a second glass of wine, but our server didn't stop back to inquire after us and in the end I gave up waiting and we left.

We had our Graduation there for approximately 20 people, The service was bad, They got the orders wrong and after waiting over an hour for her the The member for Caloundra had to leave without eating, After all that they got the bill wrong. Although reading some of the current reviews it looks like they may have got their act together
