Had a fantastic dinner with very innovative dishes and good selection of wine. The serving sizes were a bit small but that means you can order more.

In the same location as the old Mrs Jones, then Three, One, Two and most recently Embrasse, The Town Mouse is no less brilliant than its predecessors. This is a high statement, because they have all been high calibre restaurants.
The Town Mouse breathes new life into the rooms of 312 Drummond St. The previous restaurants were all old school dining rooms with a sophisticated yet homely feel. The formal settings, french drapery, polished timber surfaces and neutral walls adorned with oil paintings, have been replaced with glossy black wall tiles, tall bar tables, leather stools etc.
Aesthetics aside, the dining experience was excellent and it was not hard to see why this place has been creating a stir ever since it opened its doors in a low key manner earlier in the year. It didn't need to create publicity for itself. Beginning with the complimentary bread with seaweed butter, goats cheese profiteroles, smoked barramundi, roast cabbage side, and ending with a sophisticated new age spin on the vienetta, every bite was one to savour.
This is modern fine dining without the endless parade of courses or the formal surrounds and service. A really refreshing experience.

Went to this place with my husband for a lunch and we absolutely LOVED IT! It was divine. I cannot stress to you enough, just how amazing this place was.
Gush gush gush
Service is amazing, cute little place- my husband and I didn't even talk much, we just gazed lovingly at..

the food, as we had mouthful after mouthful of these spoonful's of heaven. They made cabbage taste delicious. But the main reason we went was for the dessert, we saw it on masterchef the week before. It is worth even just going for the dessert, I have never had anything like it. An amazing combination of flavours and textures and colours. The head chef here is a genius.

Approximate cost: $25
