I love the concept and am still a supporter of THR1VE for what it stand for but I have to admit that I do feel like things have changed dramatically (not for the better) but perhaps I am just speaking for the Emporium store here.

Portions have shrunk and I do not feel like I'm getting a value for money feed for $15+ anymore. Yes, I too agree it is about quality over quantity but when you've been a customer since opening and have seen portion sizes shrink considerably, it leaves a bad taste in your mouth. What used to be my usual lunch break spot has quickly become my option if I want to have a break from the salad bar that I now find more satiating and worth $12 because it really is that filling.

I was very pleased to find this gem in Melbourne on a recent trip. We waited for them to open as unfortunately google said they opened an hour earlier than they did. We ordered some smoothies which were made fresh quickly for us and were absolutely delicious, and well priced for the size given the quality ingredients. I can recommend the Salted Caramel one which they make dairy free with house-made coconut or almond milk. We planned on visiting again for a meal but unfortunately did not have time - I will definitely do so on a future trip to Melbourne though!

Classy gourmet paleo food. Thr1ve's menu is high in protein, low in carbohydrates, gluten-free and free of any added sugar. They have everything from pancakes to DIY bowls (your choice of protein, grains & greenery - the choice is very good ie. leafy greens, natural brown rice, baby spinach leaves and sweet potato and cauliflower mash, vietnamese-style shredded pork). Drinks are great too. They do offer normal coffee, but the signature house brews are highly recommended. Mountain Coffee – a long black blended with MCTs is delicious. As is the smoothie menu, which features dessert-inspired options such as apple pie, cookies & cream and, my personal favourite, salted caramel.
