Lovely restaurant. Food is beautiful and it is just a lovely place go to with your family if you looking for something a bit nicer. The staff are very accomodating and are friendly. The view is spectacular. This is an expensive place but for everything you get as well as amazing service it is worth paying that little extra. Been to Tides multiple times with my family and will go again so I recommend it to everyone!

Came here for lunch with my daughter who was visiting from uk this week. Always wanted to try so decided this was a special ocassion and go for it.
We didnt have a booking but we got there upon opening so they had tables spare.
Gorgeous views of bulcock beach across the rd,the glare off the awnings at 12 noon is a bit eye catching so wear sunnies as it can be annoying and painful.
We were seated by a lovely lady who was helpful,at the side of the restaurant.
Water was served, very nice shaped glasses too
Entrées of hervey bay scallops in the shell with bacon and parmesan salsa for $14 for my daughter came out quick and I just wanted some nice ciabatta, warm and 2 knobs of salted butter on the side were delish.
She loved her scallops too, they looked nice.
Mains were Coral Coast barramundi, cos lettuce, potato gnocchi, clams, shellfish consumme $38 for her and
Crispy darling downs pork belly, pickled baby carrots, apple, mustard, grape $37 for me. The pork belly was perfect tho 4 small 1 inch sized pieces seemed a bit stingy for the price. Skin was crunchy and lovely.wasnt much on my plate for $38 ,4 stringy sized carrots, and mostly sauces spread over the plate in patterns, mustard, something orange ,all tasted great but was still feeling hungry, please add more pork to the meal for value. Daughters fish dish was much more on her plate and she devoured it lovingly .we also, ordered a side of chips which were thick and crunchy and spicy. Very nice.but again $10 for a small bowl of chips is a bit much too.
Our dishes were taken promptly ,never anyone in our face we were left to enjoy the view and company.the place started to fill up around 12:30
We decided on dessert Tides cherry ripe, coconut parfait, dark chocolate, cherry $16 for me and It was heaven beautiful ice cream, curls of chocolate and black cherries and coconut, one thing I didnt like was the choc curls covered in cocoa,it made my mouth dry and wasnt really nice on the chocolate. Daughter had Chamomile tea panna cotta, apple sorbet, ginger, walnut $16 i had a taste and the thin cut apple was divine with the panna cotta.looked so well presented too
Table settings are white with a lovley glass of yellow lillies in them, very pretty.
Only thing is to be prepared with high prices for little serves. Dont go starving lol
End of meal we were presented with the bill which has a form to fill in on how your meal was ,yes i mentioned the cocoa .
They bring a large hand held payment machine to your table, which neither of us has seen before, quite novel,to zip your card thru and take ur reciept. Parking isnt great ,we parked in the next street, parking machines are abundant in caloundra so beware. All in all was a lovely meal and experience and we spent 2 hours over a lingering lunchtime.was lovely and relaxing

Approximate cost: $135

The Tides is all about taking your time to enjoy the view & the food. The chicken breast & angel hair pasta is tasty, & if you're up for desert, try their cheescake. The only downside is the food is all very gourmet so send your kids down the road, because there's not much for them.
