Hi ordered 7 Timber 60mm cedar cut to size blinds.
Right from the first phone call right through the easy process of ordering this Australian business could not be faulted. Very pleased with the quality and finish. We had to replace the original imported timber blinds which in our opinion were just crap compared to the blinds we have just installed.
Great to see a small Australian company supplying an EXCELLENT product.5*****

I ordered 13 blinds for our new home from Timber Blinds Express. The reasoning was simple - Australian made (supporting local Australian small business over buying imports), made to order, local after sales support and warranty.

That's when buyer's regret sets in after you paid your money up front at the time of ordering. They took twice as long as quoted to deliver them, however that was the least of the problems. 9 of the timber blinds were seriously defective in manufacture. Defects included but were not limited to - jammed mechanisms, slats warped and not parallel, slats drooping on one side of the blind, permanent marker pen marks on the head boxes that can't be removed, and pelmets cut to the wrong size.

I contacted Timber Blinds Express (a.k.a.) The Timber Blinds Factory by both email and telephone with my complaint. When I finally got to speak to a person I was assured all would be made good. That was some weeks ago. They promised to send a courier to pick up the defective blinds. No one turned up. This was a great inconvenience as the new house is a 150km round trip from where we currently live (about 3 hours travelling time). Also the courier apparently doesn't pick up on Saturdays so I had to take a full day off business to be there for the pick up which didn't happen. I've since emailed Timber Blinds Express and I haven't heard back from them. As you can probably appreciate W.A. is a long way from Millthorpe, N.S.W. I guessing their attitude is now we've got your money we aren't going to do anything about correcting our sub-standard product. If you want to waste over $2000 like I did, then take the risk with this company. Product is of poor quality, there is zero post production quality control and after sales service which amounts to nothing beyond lip service. Their website information about the supposed quality and after sales service in my opinion is highly misleading and most likely breaches the Trade Practices Act.

Would I recommend Timber Blinds Express? Absolutely NOT!
It's a pity I can't upload photos of these blinds to this website. Prospective purchasers really have to see just how badly made their product is to put this review into perspective.

Type your cAfter your initial complaints we worked with you to amend the issues, by having the blinds sent back to our factory and resending them back to you ( leaving our factory on the 15th January 2014 ). We have now supplied blinds to you of a standard satisfactory to you and have not received any further complaints from you after this date.
Our team worked hard to ensure the final blinds sent out to you were of a standard that would satisfy you.
Our factory is in a small country town and our values reflect village life where we all treat each other with respect and try to do the right thing by every one.
We tried our best to have the blinds corrected and returned them to you as quickly as possible.
We would appreciate it if you could please amend your comments to reflect this result.

This is a follow up to the reply made by Timber Blinds Express (TBE). After a considerable amount of negotiation on my part TBE agreed to take back and repair 6 of the 9 defective blinds. I eventually received back the 6 blinds claimed to be repaired by them. What was returned were 3 blinds which had been cosmetically altered by TBE so that the blinds did not match in with the original 13 ordered. Three of which were to be installed in the same room as 3 others, so now there are two versions of the same timber blinds in the same room. Defeating the entire purpose of buying the blinds from the same manufacturer. Furthermore, one of the bedroom blinds was returned because the mechanism in the head box was jammed. When this blind was returned by TBE the blind was no longer jammed but the slat tilt mechanism was broken, there was damage to the paintwork on the slats and one of the three cords used to raise and lower the blind was missing the wooden break through tassels. So a blind that was returned with one fault was returned by TBE with three problems. The blinds can't be closed which defeats the whole purpose of hanging the blind in the window space. In simple terms this product right from new was never fit for its intended purpose. An email with attached photos has been sent to TBE explaining the problem with the blinds but they haven't bothered to respond. They won't accept any calls to discuss the matter and they have already indicated back in December 2013 that they refuse to enter into any verbal discussions with a view to resolving the problems in the reasonable and timely manner. All I've received from TBE since they got my money is an attitude of dismissiveness and I've been treated in a condescending manner by the company's management. Because trying to constructively work with this company has failed on so many levels, I now feel I will need to raise a formal complaint with the NSW Department of Fair Trading. The blinds I have received are of substandard quality, exhibit all the hallmarks of poor workmanship and evidenced by the fact that one of the blinds that was returned to them with one defect was returned to the customer with three new defects is an indication there is a significant lack of quality control in their factory. To me these combined factors indicates a singular lack of expertise in the manufacture of timber blinds. When you visit their website they are full of self praise and they go the extensive length to explain how good their product is, how great value for money their products represent and how good their after sales / customer service is. If my bad experience with this company is anything to go by they have significantly misrepresented their products' quality and their level of service. In other words I believe they have possibly breached the Trade Practices Act. In the end the NSW Department of Fair Trading may be the final arbitrator of this dispute, and I'm saddened it's probably going to go down that road. In summary all I can say about Timber Blinds Express is caveat emptor. Remember when you order blinds from this company you will paying in advance for your blinds and if they are defective you are going to be left with the problem of having to resolve it yourself. I am offended by TBE's reply where they use the words like ".... we all treat each other with respect and try to do the right thing by every one." Well they haven't treated this customer with respect and by not only failing to rectifying the problems with their defective blinds and just making the problems worse isn't by anyone's stretch of the imagination "trying to do the right thing ..." If you are considering buying timber blinds on-line where you pay in full before you receive your products I sincerely suggest based on personal experience you steer well clear of Timber Blinds Express and make your purchase elsewhere.

I recently ordered some blinds for my house, I just wanted to say thank you for the great service throughtout the buying process; you kept me up to date with what was going on and always followed up any messages you left. I was really
impressed and very happy when my blinds arrived. They look fantastic and will very soon be ordering more for a couple of bedrooms!
I live six hours away from Perth so got some quotes from local shops that were well over $1000 more than yours cost me. I wasn't too sure what to expect with such a great price difference but I am very happy with the quality of your service and products. They all fit perfectly too.
I look forward to dealing with you again soon.

I wanted some custom made timber venetian blinds for my children's rooms. I had done a lot of searching and found that Timber Blinds Express were the cheapest by far. I was a little concerned as their contact email address was a gmail account and I couldn't find any reviews on them. I'm happy to say that within 2 working days I received an invoice (with my payment details) and information on when the blinds would be ready. In less than 2 weeks after that, I received a call telling me the blinds were ready and would I be at home to receive the parcels on the following Monday / Tuesday. He also asked for some delivery options should I not be at home when the parcel was delivered so that I wouldn't have to pay extra for a second try. I explained I was a stay at home mum, so any time was fine. I was extra delighted to receive the package the very next day! (Not in 4-5 days time). Both sets of blinds were wrapped carefully to avoid damage in transit. They fit the windows beautifully (according to the measurements I'd given them). My only gripe was that the edges of the blinds hadn't been repainted white where they had been cut to measure (to match the rest of them). It doesn't really matter as it's not noticeable next to the edge of the window and the wood used is so light in colour. I will be returning for my other windows!
