Great food. Always consistent. Very helpful and polite service. Just a touch dated. Other than that its great.

I had a very very bad customer service in this restaurant yesterday. It deserved no star. Started after I and my family got seated. There were 4 people eating and yet there was only 3 eating bowls and tools. Then they only give us 1 menu....so we asked. Instead of giving us what we need, the waiter said there is a menu on the other table and took him a long time before bringing the other bowl and chop sticks.

Next we asked for water. Instead of 4 glasses, he gave us 1. We asked for more, he responses was why when you can drink the tea.

Next we asked for chilli oil during the meal, you can feel more "why do you want chilli oil when i gave you chilli sauce" attitude.

Next my young one didn't want to eat food but wanted a fried ice cream. We asked specially to come alone with the meal. Instead the same waiter felt that in our interest, the ice cream should be coming after the meal. So during the meal when i realised the ice cream is not coming, i had to order again. Then he asked my son what favouring does he wanted in the ice cream. My son said strawberry. He said only choclate or caramel. Since my son can't eat chocolate, he asked for caramel. So the waiter went in the kitchen and came out with an ice cream with CHOCOLATE topping. He said sorry kitchen made it and only choclatee left and just put it right in front of my son's face. There were no apologies or asking if we still want it. Just expecting my son to eat it.

We got angry at the service but waiter said the kitchen is busy but yet the restaurant is not full. He kept saying we were loud at complaining but they themselve are not listening to our complaints. The whole meal theme was "EAT WHAT WE SERVICE".

They did not charge us the ice cream but at the end there was still no apologies even from the manager. This is a total NONE customer focus restaurant. They did really care about their customers...to them you are lucky to eat at Tim's bbq.

Been going to Hornsby Tim's regularly for over 10 years, reliable, fresh authentic food, friendliest service. The decor update a while ago and credit card payment were welcome.

Great food always consistent, love their salt and pepper fish and crunchy spinach. They do the best duck pancakes although a little expensive for the amount of food but always yummy

Approximate cost: $15-20

Tim's BBQ restaurant has a $25 minimum charge in order to use their EFTPOS, when you want to just go in and buy some roast meat, it's annoying you can't use card and have to run outside and look for an ATM. It's so strict that once our take away was at $23 and they still won't let us use EFTPOS, come on Tim's Hornsby, it's the 21st century, we all use cards and you make enough money to give your customers the option of EFTPOS facilities.

Approximate cost: $17

Don't want to cook last night. So bought a chicken and take away. Good choice for our dinner. Delicious!

Tim's is one of our regular dining places, right near Westfield Hornsby. It is a small, cosy place with about 10 tables. Definitely try the duck, especially the Peking Duck. It can be a little noisy at times but a great place for a quick, delicious meal.

Best BBQ in Chatswood. Staff remember your order from last visit and ensure the butcher does not dish out the duck neck. Greens could be more leafy and less stalky, but the pork duck combo is a meal of champions.

Approximate cost: $10.50
