I am writing to bring to your attention an extremely distressing incident I experienced at 'TJ Shoe Repairs' located in your plaza, Shop M2 36 Blue St Greenwood Plaza, North Sydney NSW 2060. The incident involves the owner, who identifies himself as Joe.

I dropped off my RM Williams shoes (which are worth $670) for resoling and replacing the heels on 23/10/23 and picked it up on 25/10/23 at approximately 2pm. For this job, I paid him $121.98

When I picked up my shoes, I immediately noticed that the heels of the shoes haven't been fixed, which I informed Joe about and asked him to buff it. His demeanour changed towards me immediately, and he started grumbling, and while walking away inside the store, he said "I fucking knew from the time you walked in that you're gonna complain about something", "You guys are never happy."

Then he took a few steps in his shoe repair area, and while fixing it, kept on hurling non-stop loud abuses including "You fucking people are all the same!" which, are all racial insults, given I am an Indian-Australian. At this point, I told him "Stop abusing me, just finish my job and give me back my shoes". To which, he yelled back "I can't fucking hear you, I've got the fucking machine on!".

He came out after 45 seconds, and banged my RM Williams shoe box on his tabletop. At this point, I took my phone out and began recording the incident with my phone, capturing the moment as he dropped my RM Williams shoes on his tabletop. At this point, I told him "I will be complaining to the centre management" to which he opened his shop 'flap-door', and he came out in an aggressive manner to intimidate me. I felt that he was walking out to hit me.. I have a 55-second video that captures this episode from the time he dropped the RM Williams shoe box.....to the moment he aggressively opened his shop 'flap-door'. This video will clearly show how he is intending to intimidate me. I genuinely felt if I wasn't recording this episode, he would've continued his ranting and assaulted/shoved me given his body language.

No individual or shop keeper should have the right to abuse, insult, intimidate and show aggressive/controlling behaviour.
No customer, or for that matter, any individual, should ever experience such verbal abuse and racial discrimination.

Service was OK, the place smelt of cigarettes.. which was a bit of a put off, but I was desperate. Got the heels back same day, a little on the steep side, compared to the value of the shoes, but they were my fav... would go back if required too.
