Very, very busy cafe. The winning dish here is the hot cakes, they are very popular. They taste great, but the feed is massive. Parking can be tricky here

Usually busy, busy, busy. Service is effiicient. Depending when you come, you may need to line up for a table. This cafe is also affiliated with Kettle Black in South Melbourne and Higher Ground in the city. The Hotcakes are a standout. Super yummy

The cafe was so busy and the atmosphere was great! The presentation of the food was so cute and the food itself was delicious! Would definitely recommend.

The line is always crazy on weekends, best to get there before 9 am to avoid long wait. The one thing I was slightly disappointed in was that there was no free parking around the area on a Saturday. It was very difficult to find parking space around there.
I had Ricotta hotcakes- it looked and tasted amazing. My husband had the chili scrambled egg and he was pretty happy with it. Will probably go back if we could get up early on weekend. We both hate having to wait an hour for a table.

Trendy cafe, recommended by many friends. The ricotta hotcakes is a must try if you ever pop in to try out the cafe!

You can see why it is so popular. They have really got it all - the atmosphere, the setting, the service and the food.
My recommendation from the menu (which is all good) would be the ricotta hotcakes.

Try the hotcakes and coffee, you will not be disappointed. My friend had a bacon and egg roll which she enjoyed too. Parking is a pain but otherwise great!

Breakfast is always good here and am a big fan of the pancakes and Iced Chocolates. The staff are always lovely and helpful, family friendly and good for a catch up.

Went here for Breakfast with a friend. Hated the lack of parking available but everything else about the place was great!
Good coffee, yummy food and great staff. I had the porridge. Beautifully presented and nice big portions.
My friend had a breakfast roll and was very impressed :-)

Come her for the ricotta cakes, stay for the coffee. The staff are very attentive and have some great recommendations for one of the best breakfast menu's around. Beware that it can take a while to get a table or get your bill back. Worth it though.

I have been here once and i will continuously come here for brunch.. I had the Eggs benedict - poached egg with hamhock & béarnaise on toast and a cup of latte. The hamhock is very tender and well flavoured. i LOVE it! everything just perfect, a great place to have a wonderful brunch. excellent service too. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Been meaning to go to Top Paddock for a while now, and never found an occasion until early last week when I went there with my brother and my partner. It was a Monday morning so we were lucky to get a slightly quieter cafe experience than what we might have experience on a weekend. Top Paddock's aesthetic is so lovely, it's big and spacious, with split levels, cool decor and communal tables - I really liked it.

Their menu is extensive (breaky is all day) and really reasonably priced. This was impressive given how amazing our meals were. Good coffee obviously, and all our breakys were delish. I had the drunken gingerbread, my brother the giant ricotta pancake and my partner had the big breakfast equivalent. All amazing, and too big to finish.

Top Paddock is one of those great places that serves up food that really feels much too fancy for the $17-18 you're paying and kind of exemplifies why high end restaurants can struggle these days. Who would pay exorbitant amounts of money when you can get this kind of quality for $25 or less?

Staff were lovely too - no qualms there. I assume this place is frantic of a weekend, so I'd say try and get here during the week! If not, go on the weekend anyway - I think it's worth it.

Approximate cost: $17

I went here for breakfast with a friend. It was bustling and the open plan design was gorgeous on a lovely sunny morning. I enjoyed the hot-cakes, though it was one large, almost honey-cake like hot cake, and was quite sweet. If you have a sweet tooth though, it is delicious. The bircher muesli was big, and the poached fruit and green tea flavours complemented the muesli wonderfully. Both meals were very pretty, decorated with flowers. Walking past other tables, the scramble looked perfect, and is on my list for next time!

Approximate cost: $15-$22
