Don’t use.

In 2010, He asked for a deposit of $4400 to buy the pavers and kept it. Court Order issued for repayment. Magistrates court issued a warrant to seize property which he avoided by renting in Beaumaris at the time.

Approximate cost: $4500

Around the same time he took ~$3k from me. I paid him a visit at his place in Beaumaris and he soon vacated. Karma always wins.

Len and myself are were very happy with Denis and his team , they transformed our old paved entry and built a lovely ramp for our wheelchair and walker access , on time and very good communication, the end result was perfect. I would advise anyone that wants premium quality paving to go with Denis and his workers, so happy we did.

Approximate cost: $8900

After a few hiccups at the start, we ended up with the most beautiful 80sqm of crazy paving. We are very happy with the outcome and so is everyone who sees it. Denis and his crew constantly checked to see if we were happy and were more than able to accommodate my artistic ideas which weren't standard. We are hoping to take some stunning photos once the garden grows, to promote the business.

Dennis and his team have really done an excellent job on paving our pool area! The job was slow to start at the beginning and just when we’d given up due to no- show as peak period and losing one of his apprentice workers they came good with finishing the job within 2 weeks. We love our new backyard and highly recommend his team for a job well done

We contracted Mr Tracey to landscape our front and back yards. As with most customers, we paid a 50% deposit of $5000 up front (money we borrowed). After several months of excuses and delays, we asked for a refund of our money. Mr Tracey would not return our calls. 12 months later we took him to VCAT and won the case, but as he had declared bankruptcy, the Sheriff's Department could not enforce the order. He uses this as a loophole to swindle people out of money, as evidenced by the trail of comments here. We are all left in debt, while he lives in Brighton and continues to disrupt and destroy people's lives. How can he sleep at night? How has this man not been prosecuted by the law? DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES PAY THIS MAN MONEY! YOU WILL NEVER SEE IT, OR HIM, AGAIN!

I'm so sorry to hear that. We have not heard from, or seen him since. I don't know he keeps getting away with it.

He is living in Mccrae. I don't either but I'm still hopeful. If we have no luck I'll be writing a review. Maybe I'll just cut and paste yours!

Paving - Warning CON ARTIST
If you are reading this I strongly recommend you do not proceed.
This company request 50% down payment,, a further 25% on commencement and then the final 25% on completion. The end never comes because after the 75% is paid you will never see them again. He promised me that he would finish the job by a certain date for an event I had planned. He left my backyard in a mess and never returned my calls there after. Lousy, dishonest, unprofessional owner. The Law should protect against these people, however they don't. I am so embarrassed and I fell for it.

Approximate cost: $7,000

We engaged TRACEY PAVING to perform landscaping and turf the backyard, putting down 50% at the start (mistake #1). They actually started 12 months later after numerous excuses. When they did start, they asked for more money (WARNING BELLS!). We gave them a little more so we would not lose the initial $7,000 we gave them. They had sub-contractors turn up, but materials did not arrive. In the end we got some stuff completed, but lost $1,000 after many excuses and hard luck stories.
We spoke to a law enforcement office we know and he said there was not much we could so about it. Apparently they has been called before VCAT many times before but they ignore it.
Note: his company is not registered any more (ASIC) but they are still trading under the name
BEWARE!

Approximate cost: $14,000

I prepaid this business an $800 deposit, a necessary condition to get the pavers delivered in time for the small job to be completed within 2 weeks. Two months later the job hadn't even started after four different excuses had been given. Also they proved almost impossible to contact, ie. my phone calls and messages were mostly unanswered. Consumer Affairs advised me to cancel the job and Tracey Paving promised my deposit back. Despite further promises it has been one and a half years since and I have not received a cent. According to the Sherriff's office the business no longer resides at the address I was given and the new location is unknown. I have an outstanding VCAT order against the business and the police cannot enforce it because it is a civil claim.

I agree, Dennis Tracey ripped me off as well, similar story. Started with $7,000 deposit, he finally turned up to start 12 months later and asked for more money. In the end, he did 1/2 a job but luckily we only lost $1,000 at the end. BEWARE!!

Well, it seems that Mr Tracey continues on his path of destruction. We tried to stop this happening again and unfortunately, I suspect it won't be the last time that it happens. My son and daughter in law employed Mr Tracey's services to undertake paving at their property last year. Mr Tracey was highly recommended by Jim's Paving, as they advised that they could not supply a contractor for the Sandringham area. Mr Tracey advised my son and daughter in law that he required payment for the cost of materials for the paving works, totalling $1,680.00 prior to the commencement of the works. This amount was paid for in March 2012. Mr Tracey was contracted to commence the paving works in late March 2012. Mr Tracey did not commence the paving works, nor did he deliver the materials which were paid for. Mr Tracey repeatedly found excuses for the delay in commencement of the works and failed to deliver the pavers. My son and daugther in law later found out from the paving supplier that the pavers had never even been ordered. My son found out where Mr Tracey was living at the time and confronted him at his house. Mr Tracey advised he could not reimburse the monies as he didn't have any money. The matter was referred to the police for investigation and my son was advised that there wasn't much that could be done about the matter. We were trying to stop Mr Tracey ripping off other people, but unfortunately it seems that he will continue to get away with his fraud and theft, as he has the protection of the law, whilst we don't.

We seem to be heading down the same path. I'm still hoping he will come back after Christmas but I so wish I had read this!
