Worst experience ever in purchasing a new car. Could not deliver on promises made. Finance package full exorbitant fees and commissions.

I recently put a deposit down with Travis Honda on my credit card for one of their used cars. I did not sign a contract or other paperwork and a few days later, I decided not to proceed with the purchase, mainly due to some insecurity around my employment. I e-mailed the sales staff for a refund of the deposit and a few days later, they replied that I had exceeded my 3-day cooling off period by the time I had informed them that I did not want to proceed with the purchase. I put it to them, with a copy to the dealer principal, to ask how any 3-day cooling off period could apply since I had not signed a contract. I never heard back from anyone so it was clear that Travis Honda did not intend to refund the deposit. I then contacted Consumer Affairs Victoria and a week later, I received a refund cheque in the mail. Overall, very poor customer service . And very annoying that I had to resort to Consumer Affairs Victoria.
