I have been a client of Tropaz since it opened, and always have a compliments for my hair colour, my cut and the condition of my hair. Even strangers give me compliments, so how's that! I always use the hair products they recommend - which is probably why it looks so shiny and is in good condition after decades of blonding. And ladies know it's not easy getting that perfect shade of beige blonde !!! Now I sound like an ad. I was surprised to find the negative comments posted on the site, but I guess sometimes there is a breakdown in communication between people. Whenever I've seen teenage boys in the salon, there's been a good rapport between them and the staff. Thinking back to when my boys were teens, I recall us disputing whether or not their hair had been thoroughly washed or even washed when they said it had. And the same went for washing between the toes. But when they were teens that was the least of my worries. Obviously I can't compare prices between salons but $6.60 for a shampoo and scalp massage is heavenly. Just once, a few years ago, I tried a reputable salon closer to where I now live, but their best colourist turned me a orange blonde (but I didn't blog, say anything at the salon or return), so I'm more than happy to travel to Ferny Hills where they are skilled professionals. I need TROPAZ. Stay in business ladies !!!!!!

Living locally I was looking for a near by hairdresser for our family. We arrived on time and waited 20 mins to be seen. My sons told the management they had washed their hair the previous night and only needed a trim. While I was gone the staff washed my second son's hair. When my son brought the receipt to me I saw that I had been charged an extra $6.60 to wash his hair which we had specifically asked them not to do. I went back and asked for an explanation. They became immediately defensive, raised voice and told me that we turned up late. When I corrected them and said they were the one running late and that it was not right to charge $6.60 for shampooing that was specifically not asked for - their reply was "if that's how you feel you can take your business elsewhere." We definitely will be. No idea how someone who can't even make their own hair look decent and who has zero customer service skills could stay in business.

I have also had a terrible experience with Tropaz. I took my neice to the salon the other day for a trim. She left the salon reduced to tears because the staff had hacked into her hair and given her mullet style layers which she certainly had not asked for. When I went in and asked them to alter this, was extremely rude to me. We ended up at Brookside, where all of the ladies were polite and understanding. Most importantly they could cut hair.
