Having walked past this place many times, my girlfriend and I walked past, and she wanted to try it. They had a deal wrap and a drink 12 bucks.. so so priced. I looked at the board, as I had to decide quick (the woman seemed to be in a hurry). I noticed a juice combination I wanted. "Pineapple, OJ, Rockmelon and Watermelon. " So I asked for the "Pineapple, OJ, Rockmelon and Watermelon juice one thanks". The woman confirmed my order saying "Oasis". I looked to the left of the juice listing, that was it's name. Imagine my surprise when it came out with milk and yogurt in it. I asked "does it have milk in it ?" Of course, all our smoothies have milk in it.. Thinking I must have been stupid not to see milk as an ingredient, I looked again at the board, no mention of milk on the board. She points over to another board which says "what is a smoothie, it is milk, yogurt etc." As someone who cannot drink milk I am very cautious of what I order. To be told in a smart arse way "well we have been here 7 years, and never had this problem before." How hard is it to put at the top of the list "contains milk". At no stage did I ask for a refund, I just wanted to get my point across, as obviously I made the mistake of not reading all the different boards, to notice the "what is a smoothie". The wrap was your standard overpriced, dry wrap you would get from any sandwich shop, so it was no worse than I expected. Will never go there again, and will tell all my friends to stay clear. The people seem friendly enough, until you question their business.

I was looking for something different in Melbourne one day when I stumbled across the Tropicana Juice Bar in Elizabeth Street. It's a very small shop with lots of character and a tonne of oranges hanging up out the front, which is what drew me to the pace. I felt like a banana smoothie as it was the time when Bananas were in shortage and not many places were making them due to the cost - but not Tropicana - they made me the best Banana Smoothie I have ever had! Whenever I go to Melbourne I try and visit Tropicana, its so fresh. The guy who owns the place in so friendly and always likes a chat. I will continue to go to Tropicana - it's always a highlight when I visit Melbourne!
