Been twice now in the last 3 weeks and not been very happy. Firstly our order was for 2 toasted ham sandwiches and 2 salad sandwiches. The toasted ones came and after twice asking if they had forgotten the others and assured they hadn’t. 20 mins later they arrived! The second time was Mother’s Day and was told we could not have a menu due to Covid!!!!! Asking older people to look on a phone to choose what they would like to eat is ridiculous. All other cafes and restaurants in Townsville have a menu to hold and browse over. The music was so loud and people were having to speak loudly to hear each other. Not the nice relaxing Mother’s Day meal we were expecting. It used to be a favorite place of ours but not anymore. May be ok for a cuppa and cake. Staff were very nice but you need to turn the music down and make it more of a relaxing place set in the beautiful grounds of the Botanical gardens.

First visit after reopening. Very busy.
Parking is an issue and then there were no tables. Very dark inside and all closed up despite the pleasant temperature and lovely outlook.
Coffee good but could be hotter, scone nice but no knife or servettes provided.
Maybe early days for new tenants but room for improvement.

Approximate cost: $12.00

A nice place to relax and meet up with friends. Great range of tea and coffee selection. The Red Velvet is amazingly smooth and would definitely go there again for that. Nice view and a place to walk along after having tea and take pictures in the garden.

They offer an extensive range of teas expected of a tea house. Along with the usual selection of coffee, sandwiches, wraps, pastries, scones and cakes to whet your appetite. There were also some interesting desserts entitled Red Velvet Bombs which I must try next time. The interior is air-conditioned, and you order and pay at the counter before being served at your table.
Go for a walk in the Palmetum gardens next door to work off those treats. The gardens are orderly and well-maintained with plenty of shade during the hot afternoon. Entry is free.

Approximate cost: $7 - $20
