On their website, Tweed Coast Mazda state they “go above and beyond to ensure that our clients are always happy" and “Our team is genuinely interested in making sure that you are more than satisfied with your pre-loved vehicle from the time of purchase and after".

However my experience has been that if you want to be pressured into buying a car which hasn’t been checked properly and then treated as if you don’t exist, by all means deal with Tweed Coast Mazda. Otherwise avoid them at all costs.

I purchased a used vehicle from them in December 2019 and during the process felt considerable pressure from the salesman and wasn’t told until after I’d signed that there was no cooling off period.

When I went to pick up the car, I was unable to drive it away because the instrument cluster was so splattered that it was unreadable. This was rectified the next day, however it amazes me that no one had noticed this when doing a final check of the car (it wasn’t like this when I had a test drive)

Next issue was that the key battery was flat. I had identified this on my test drive and had been assured that the battery had been replaced. Obviously this didn’t happen as a few days after getting the car I was left stranded because the key did not have enough battery power to open the door.

On top of that, within a week of purchasing the car and driving less than 200kms, the car battery died. Obviously in passing the car as roadworthy the dealership hadn’t checked the level of power left in the battery.

All these are very annoying in a newly purchased car but worse still was the complete lack of response I received from the dealership. In order to give them the opportunity to rectify the issues and retain my goodwill, I initially advised my salesman of the battery and key issues. When I had no reply, I emailed the sales manager. Again no response so I emailed the managing director. I followed this up with 2 phone calls and am still waiting for his response almost 4 weeks later. I have never had such poor service.
