always helpful and friendly; buying second-hand books is great for the environment and for you - plus KITTENS!!

Been a while since ive been here but they were on the main road, had cool book selections and were fairly priced. Will have to give them a call for another visit soon to make sure they are still here.

So far I've been to Urchin Books 3 times..each time the staff were so friendly and warm.. and it's way too easy to find a few books to buy. There is a great range of books, and the prices are so realistic. I love how theyr'e doing so much community stuff- with the marrickville festival, comic & zine activities, etc.
and they have great bookmarks..

A marvellous little shop to visit (almost daily, in my case), browse through the various genres (supernatural and science fiction, for my part), relax in the reading room, chat with the friendly, knowledgeable staff and marvel at the unusually decorated bookmarks. Another reason to live in (or frequently visit) Marrickville.

What a cool book shop. They have great sci-fi and music sections which is right up my alley. They also have interesting little bits and pieces like the save the bears book bags and bookmarks with amazing designs. The staff are great, the reading room is great, and apparently they might even do some literature and arts events which would be perfect for the area. I'm so glad this shop opened here.

Excellent variety of fiction and non fiction. Terrific crime and thriller section. Really good children's section. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Cool decor!

A really good selection of 2nd hand books. Good sections on SF/Fantasy, Crime/Thriller and general literature. The books are very good condition - which I think is reflected in the price (most novels seem to be priced at $9.50)

really good, as the books are excellent quality and pretty cheap, also, you can return the books and get 50% shop credit. Staff are kind and helpfull.
