Waited at the "customer service" counter for 5 minutes as 2 staff members had their lunch, chatted and watched me wait.

Price was not as good as I had expected from other reviews.

After visiting another professional paint store, I was informed that the way Velvet Paints had mixed their paints was not the correct way to make this colour.

Overall, unimpressed.

We've had a few projects around the house lately - involving staining a large deck and painting a room, so we needed quite a few things. We did some research online and decided to use a product called "Spa and Deck" for the deck. This is a relatively expensive product so I visited Velvet Paints after seeing their rating here on WOMOW. Although the shop looks just like any other paint shop, they are definitely a lot cheaper than others (I compared a couple of prices to Bunnings and they were way way cheaper).

I also found them to be very helpful - willing to mix up sample pots and carry some things to my car (as I had bubs with me).

We have been going to Velvet Paints since they were recommended to us by a friend who is an interior designer. They have a huge variety of paint at really good prices. They give practical advice, but they do get busy so on weekends you sometimes have to wait for a while until someone can serve you - best to go early on w/ends

Approximate cost: $1200
