I went to Venus Hair and Beauty because I liked the prices on their website. Much cheaper than other salons in the area. My stylist was a friendly girl and was happy to look at the photo of the hair colour I brought in. When I was a little shocked at the level of blonde she put in she was more than happy to fix it up for me. I have to say, some of the staff was a little immature, but that can be expected from stylists barely out of their teenage years. All in all I would recommend this salon if you want something simple and no-frills.

I really love getting my hair done at Venus (haven't tried the other services yet). You get the best of both worlds here. A stylish salon with very talented hairdressers, but also with an unpretentious, laid back, friendly atmosphere. I had my hair cut and dyed there yesterday and I haven't stopped looking in the mirror since! Great cut. Pre credit crunch (and pre my emigrating to Australia!) I used to get my hair cut in some uber-posh London salons which cost three times as much, but I prefer the hair cuts I get here, they're just as good, and lower maintenance! My only very nit picking reasons for not giving it the full fives stars is that for me a truly five star hair cut involves a glass of wine and posh client toilets! (clients have to use the scruffy public toilets outside the salon) - so petty though I know, and things I don't think they could feasibly provide at the very affordable prices they charge. The actual hair cuts are 5 star, the service is 5 star, and I'd give them 6 out of 5 stars for value if I could!

Only having moved to the area recently and noticing the advertising out the front of the business I have found Venus to be a fabulous experience from start to finish. Their waxing consultants are highly experienced and fast, their hairdressers are friendly, helpful and innovative. I could not recommend to anyone highly enough the services they offer. It's also wonderful to know that the owner of the business is a full time staff member. The service is excellent and I recommend booking ahead as they are highly sought after.
