I wanted an over locker, they didn’t try to sell me the most expensive but rather the most reliable one that suited my needs. It is super easy to use. I have taken it in for a clean and service about 5 times. It has had the knife replaced and the timing adjusted and it needed a new foot plate once. It is a brother my lock, I bought it in 1997 when Veras was in Wollongong. They are honest and informative. I have rung up with questions and they always give great advice.

I got an awesome machine from Deanna and Rosie at Vera's in Fairy Meadow. The knowledge and advice from the ladies at this shop is unmatched, I've never gone anywhere else since my purchase as they're the only ones that take the time to really teach you how to get the best from your machine. Genuinely nice people and a great range, would recommend to anyone.

I have bought 2 sewing machines (one for myself and one for mum) and an overlocker from here. The best honest advice you will get. I even got training on how to use my overlocker as I had never had one before. You normally get your 1st service free when you buy a machine. Wouldn't go anywhere else now.

Wollongong is lucky to have Vera's Machine Centre as it is the only place in the Illawarra where you can go for comprehensive advice on sewing machines and overlockers from truly competent, experienced staff who are not in a mad rush to get you out the door. I have bought 2 machines from them - both came with free lessons on how to use and maintain the machine. I have been in several times just for advice and had my machine fault corrected on the spot, or at another time, they assisted me with correctly putting in a stud using a pack I'd bought from Spotlight. They also sell sewing machine threads and accessories and take machines in for full servicing. It is very reassuring to have them just around the corner knowing that if my machine packs up when I'm in the middle of sewing something, that I can take the machine straight over to them for advice. Well worth buying your machine there for the excellent service and knowledge that comes with it.
